Asking Vice captain to welcome a new signings

When asking my vice captain to welcome new signings into my club I have noticed that while The vice captain himself might occasionally get a boost of moral himselfs (Which I intended to make for the new signing),whereas the new signing never get any boost but occasionally get demoralized drastically into " abysmal " which in turn makes me "uninterested " to take the chance and ruining their moral from the first day in the club...

Could anyone shed some light into this "obscure" phenomenon

Hmm, must admit I've never noticed this. Perhaps he is disappointed the actual captain didn't take the time to welcome him? All I can think of. Will keep an eye out for this from now on though.
