I'm in my first season as Brighton manager, about halfway through the league, 5 points off top spot with a game in hand. I was 6k over my wage budget so thought i'd cut down on staff. My assistant manager was the highest earner in the whole club (3.5k p/w). I found an assistant manager far better who's only asking for 1.2k p/w - so i got rid of my expensive asst. manager.

However, now i'm in a bit of trouble because when i offer a contract to the new assistant manager I want, the board won't let me offer anymore than £800 p/w!? I'm spending 51k p/w on wages, my budget is 55k. I've adjusted the budget slider all the way to the 'wages' end.

Any ideas please?

Could try Terry Mcdermott - Huddersfield ;) he asks for around £625- £675 for the lower reputation teams :D

Thanks for the suggestion, he was actually better than the guy I was going for (Kevin Nugent). However....he wasn't interested in joining. I've finally managed to offer a contract to the Walsall asst. mgr. but will wait to see if anyone else could tell me why the game won't let me use the spare 4.5k in my wage budget!?

Staff wages are different, go on expenditures and you will see, but you should always make sure you can offer him a contract and then sack your assistant manager, i know, it's a pain

There is a cap for all wages. The maximum you can offer a staff / player in a particular role is decided by your board. Check out this place on the forum where i've explained it the best I could. Salary Caps on LLM

This is kinda of a long shot and it probably won't work but I dunno...ask your board for a new contract and ask for the lowest amount of money possible. That may save money, after all, it's still wages and tbh what are you gonna do with the money? Buy a car, I don't think so.

Other than that I would say, get rid of unnecessary scouts, I am allowed 18 scouts at my club but only have like 4.

Cut any **** reserves players i.e. be a **** to them and then offer mutual termination (so you don't end up paying wages for someone who's not at the club).

Am...what else?...........I dunno.

Most of these ideas are possible but unlikely lol

Let's say, they're..."subject to conditions"
