How come when i go to to opposition instructions i cannot select ask assistant but i can on team talks ? Its puzzled me
 
Usually happens if your assistant isnt any good mate,better assistants can do this but iv never been able to choose ask assistant when in lower leagues.hope this helps???
 
I thought it was because you haven't got a scout to watch the next opposition, so your *** man doesn't know what to do
 
It's not completely to do with scout reports or how good your assistant is. I manage a lower league team in one of my saves, I get a scout to watch next opposition for each match, and some matches I can choose ask assistant, and others I can't.

No it's not. I've had league games where I've scouted them and I haven't been able to ask assistant, and other times I have. It might be to do with your assistant thinking none of their players deserve opposition instructions
 
what teams are they against? if teams not in the same country as you the assistant may not be allowed to scout them cos of the restaints on your clubs scouting
 
Actually he just has nothing to say. It can happen with lack of scouting (though even with that it should be easy enough to say "weaker foot), or a tactically-weak assman, or maybe even an opponent that doesn't need any special instructions (though can't say I've ever seen that, sometimes all they say is "weaker foot", but what if every guy on opponent's team is dual-footed).

But anyway, you'll see it in lower leagues when you have a poor staff.
