ASTON_VILLA_BADGE.jpg

Yesterday, Martin O'Neil resigned as Aston Villa manager to the amasement of any football. He quoted 'This job has seperated me from my family and I think some time away from the game and with them will give me a chance to spend time with them'.
3 days after O'Neils departure, Villa were quick to find his successor.
He was to be 'Kieran Fox' a 34 year old Ex England and Chelsea Striker.
Fox won 35 caps with England scoring 12 goals and played at Chelsea for the whole of his 15 year career. Fox has only just retired as player and has quickly looked into management.

Fox: 'I have always admired Aston Villa as a club, I'm sad that O'Neil has gone, but this is a start of a new chapter, Last season they finished 6th and have a chance to participate in Europe, I look to build on 6th place and better it'

Key players:

Brad Friedel: He is the rock between the two posts, he is a great keeper and I will look to him to keep up his impressive form and use his experience to help out other players.

Curtis Davies and Richard Dunne: These 2 are at the heart of the defense, these are the types of players who make clubs, there passion is just amazing. These two will help us towards greatness.

Ashley Young, James Milner, Stiliyan Petrov: Petrov is the captain and is a greatly experienced player, he looks to lead the team. Young and Milner are young and exceptionly good wingers, my midfield is strong with these.

Gabby Agbonlahor: Agbonlahor has the pace and enthuasiasm to terrorize any defense in Europe. Playing him as Poacher will cause the best of defenses to fall to pieces.

Updates on transfers and pre-season soon. (I am on 23rd August already so updates will be quick) :)

good luck mate i gotta follow fellow chelsea fans stories :)

I was quick to add to my squad and quick to sell anyone I didn't think was capable of helping Villa progress as a team

Aston Villa 1 - 0 Recreativo: Bernardo o.g

Pretty good pre-season only let in 2 goals and scored 27 goals. Happy to see more than just strikers scoring too :)

Nice £6M for Gardner that's pretty good :P

its ok i love following stories about teams like villa and spurs and basicly any team pushing for a europeon place lol also uve made some good signings :)

Good luck, Curtis Davies is great, he was pretty much a first choice defender for England around 2013-2014 on my last game in England.

good luck mate! some big signings there. think im gonna start a fresh game with the villa too. what formations you planning on using?

Well on 09 I was villa, got to 2022, made them best team in the world
I am planning on 4-4-2 diamond, so 4-1-2-1-2, maybe using complete dominance but with wingers
See how that works
And yeh I just offered gardner out for 6mil and got loads of offers :O lol

Great transfers. Will be looking from time to time.

Good luck mate, I'll be eagerly watching.

First 2 games of the season:

Aston Villa 2 - 1 Portsmouth: I am surprised at our open day win, As a manager I hardly ever win on the opening fixture lol. Great performance from the lads, although a bit sketchy when we let in there goal, but hung on in there :). Milevskyi also got a debut goal :P

Aston Villa 3 - 1 Liverpool: I am also so surprised at this result, we absolutely killed them, they hardly had a chance, every highlight was me, and even there goal was a bad pass back to the keeper and Torres capitalised :(, no clean sheet for Friedel :@.

Have played 1 of my 2 legs of Europa League qualifying, but will update after the second leg in about 10 minutes :)

Europa League 4th Round Qualifying: Vs Rapid Wien

1st Leg: 3-0 win ... Milevskyi with 2 and 1 for Carew
2nd Leg: 2-0 win ... 2 For Carew
Nice 2 wins there, cba to provide screenies for these 2, as I holidayed because I knew they would be easy xD
Update sooooooonish

Burnley 3 - 3 Aston Villa: First away game of the season. Am resting Young as he isn't at full fitness
I wasn't that surprised to go 1-0 down, and I knew then on we would find it hard to peg back as there defense was so tight, but just before half time we levelled it up going into the break at 1-1 gave us the advantage.
After going down 3 times and fighting our way back at Turf Moor 'The Fortress' surprisingly quite happy with the draw :)

End of month update:

Nicky Shorey has joined Sporting CP on loan until the end of the season for a fee of 550k, with a view to buy for 3.1mil :)

Great to be in the top 5, although only 3 games gone.
Privileged to be named 2nd or 3rd manager of the month too :)

Doing well mate. Who do you play upfront?

Woo keep it up mate, I'll be popping in every now and then to check this out ;)

Doing well mate. Who do you play upfront?

Agbonlahor and Milevskyi usually, Heskey and Carew don't do too much, more like deadwood, just use as back-up if needed

PLAYING NOW, UPDATE IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES :D
