Welcome to my new FM10 story, it is being played on a 10.3 update, enjoy.

The Appointment
Martin O'Neill was sacked on the 5th July 2009 due to a fallout with the chairman Randy Lerner. Martin described the sacking as "completely unexpected" and was left wondering why he had been axed. 2 days later though, in came life long Villa fan James Lera to try and guide the villains to Premiership glory one day. In his first press conference, Lera said "I am pleased to have the chance to work here" and "we will always be looking to play attacking football". It is unknown whether the fans will be angry or happy at this appointment.

Milner Stays, Gago In?
James Lera said that James Milner will definitely be staying at Villa no matter how much any other team offered. He also said that Fernando Gago is closed to moving to Villa Park on a loan deal from Real Madrid.

Is this man coming in?

One In, One Out
Aston Villa have loaned Marc Albrighton out to Crystal Palace for 6 months, the young winger is delighted with this move.

Villa have signed Fernando Gago on loan for a season. They will have to pay 750k as part of the deal. The midfielder joins from Real Madrid saying this "I am delighted to move to a Premiership club where I hope to play a lot of football.

Villa Sign One But Let 2 Go
Aston Villa have signed Tom De Mul from Sevilla for £2.5 million, Lera says this signing was brilliant. Meanwhile Ciaran Clark has join Gillingham on loan for 6 months while Villarreal have signed Andreas Weimann for 550k.

Will this man be a success?

Pre Season Results
Aston Villa 2-0 Aston Villa Reserves (Delph, Petrov)
OGC NIce 0-0 Aston Villa
Lok Leipzig (Agbonlahor (2), Davis, Osbourne)
St Pauli 0-1 Aston Villa (Milner)
Werder Bremen 1-4 Aston Villa (Carew (2), Agbonlahor, Reo-Coker)
Aue 0-5 Aston Villa (Delfouneso (2), Harewood, Reo-Coker, Warnock)
Walsall 0-2 Aston Villa (Agbonlahor, Milner)

Pre-season was a success for me, winning all but one match. Agbonlahor was in exceptional form getting 4 goals, Milner also played really well.

August
Aston Villa 1-1 Wigan (Collins pen 71)
Our performance was excellent, it's just Agbonlahor's finishing was poor today. Friedel got man of the match and rightly so, he made some excellent saves.
