The golden age of Atlético Madrid was in the 1950's to the 1970's. This was a time for Celebration for the Atleti fans. It was a time to rejoice... but the club fell into dark ages, not able to return to this form again. However, can the appointment of an unknown Scottish Manager bring this team back to those days? Only time will tell.

"This game was scheduled to test my players. Good solid win for us, but the injury to youngster Ignacio Camacho could hurt us in the long run if it's a serious one."

DREAM COME TRUE FOR FEMENIA
Atlético Madrid today completed the signing of 18-year old Promising Full Back Kiko Femenia for £3.1 Million from Hercúles. Kiko has said that moving to Vincente Calderón was a "dream come true." He is also quoted as saying that "When a club like Atlético Madrid show interest in you, it is a marvellous compliment for any young player."

"Another good solid win for us. Unfortunately, another injury. This time, to Antonio Lopez. Thankfully, unlike Camacho, this injury isn't too bad."

P. Ferreira vs. Atlético Madrid
1-2

"Kiko Femenia made his debut and he was solid at right back for us. Ignacio Camacho had also recovered from injury, so that was a boost. Nonetheless, there was a degree of luck on our side, Ferreira missed a penalty. If they didn't, they would've went 2-1 up by half time. Not our best performance by a mile."

Good luck. I'm managing them at the moment in BigAl's network game. Bit of advice, I'd sell Maxi for £21M and bring in Arshavin (Y), also get Cardozo. He adds another dimension to your attack when Aguero/Forlan are injured or you need another goal.

iv got a season running with Atlético too i sold maxi for 26 mil to man city looking to bring in 2 or 3 players with the funds iv made bids for Lolo from sevilla and a bid for Artem Mileuskyi

£26M for Maxi??
Thats odd, as his release clause is £21M. Surprised that they went over his release clause to sign him.

my second season thats why and he got a new contract and he buy out clause was 45 mil because i put that when i gave him a new contracted because i was sick of ppl upsetting him so i extended it so he wouldn leave

lol. Thanks for the good luck's and suggestions guys =]

Amorós vs. Atlético Madrid

"By far our most impressive and confident performance yet. Would have been 0 - 10 if the Assistant Referee didn't chalk off Forlans 71st minute goal."

Sporting "B" vs. Atlético Madrid
2-1

"We went from being impressive to embarrassing. We were predicted to take this match with ease, yet, we lost 2-1 to this Second Division B team. We were simply not good enough."

SOLD FOR MAXI-MUM AMOUNT
Atlético Madrid today have sold Maxi Rodríguez for £21 million to Manchester City. The signing was allowed due to the fact that Manchester City activated his minimum release clause.

"The week of International duty tore us apart up front. However, we benefited from a good organised defence for this match."

Rayo Majadahonda vs. Atlético Madrid

"Massive confidence boost after two poor performances in friendlies. Definitely needed for our up-coming Champions League Qualifying double against Shakhtar Donetsk."

Selling Maxi will come back to haunt you but good headline 'sold for maxi-mum amount'

Atlético Madrid vs. Shakhtar Donetsk
2-3

"Finishing. That was the difference. We were up 2-1 by the half and I was sure we were going to win it, until two stunning strikes cost us. Going to invest in a new central defender and attacking midfielder."

Would've got Arshavin, but didn't want to pay so much for him. Also, he had no intention of coming to us so meh =p

3-6, Atlético Madrid go through

"Revenge is sweet. First, Luiz Adriano gets a yellow for diving, followed by one of our best second half performances I've ever seen. We deserved this win, Group Stages; here we come!"

CHALLENGING GROUP FOR ATLÉTI
The groups are drawn and Atlético Madrid have a challenging group to navigate through. Clearly, the main challenge is 5 time winners Liverpool, with pundits claiming that Rangers will be the least challenging.

Atlético Madrid vs. Sevilla
0-2

"Honestly, I'm disappointed we conceded the goals we did. Luis Fabiano broke through our defensive line to score, then Romaric scored a freekick. This match showed how sloppy we really are. We MUST pick up performances if we want to compete with the big guns of the Liga BBVA."

Atlético Madrid vs. Sporting
1-1

"Again, a lacklustre performance against a team we should be beating. Aguero's goal gave us some hope, but in the end, defence cost us again. Now that the transfer window is closed, can't do anything about it."

Arshavin was very willing to come to me, offered him 87K p/w and I just need to complete it. Unluck results against Sevilla and Sporting.

lol. Sporting was the most depressing result because we were actually winning :L

Atlético Madrid vs. Rangers
0-0

"Bore Goal-less draw. Forlán blew some of our best chances to be fair, seems like he's cracking a bit under one-on-ones. Kiko Femenia, who was the center of blame for the Sporting match got the MOTM, so that's a boost for him."

Getafe vs. Atlético Madrid
0-2

"An overdue win for us. Seems like the change in tactics was just what we needed. Forlán was pulling all the strings, setting up Aguero's goal and the own goal. Brilliant performance by us, just what we needed."
