Hello Guys,

I decided to completely revamp the OP, not just because this thread got some attention after 3-4 weeks of silence, but I created Version 3, which is better than the first 2 were. So the idea is the same, to keep everything simple, since football is a simple game.

So first of all the formation is my favourite 4-2-3-1

We are using 2 versions, Control and Counter. The differences are only the mentality and the width.

When to use them?

Control
- for all home matches
- away if you are the favourite
- away if the odds are even - optional

Counter
- away if the odds are even - optional
- away if you are facing a stonger opponent
- anytime if you wish to protect the lead in the last 10 minutes

Corners

Your best corner taker should be responsible and aim to Penalty Spot

Training

During the first half of pre season

Beginning of the season

After the tactic is fully fluid

Note: if it's not your first season and fluidity of the tactic is already at max, then you can change match tactics to teamwork accordingly to the above pics.

Team happiness and Team Talks

If these areas are being handled properly they grant huge advantage. I don't want to complicate things, just to give some tips.

Actually let the overall team talk done by your assistant, but after you do the positional team talk:

Before the match

- Home always assertively: I have faith...

- Away calmly/assertively: I have faith...

Half time

- If leading: assertively/calmly don't get complacent. Never praise them at half time. Don't worry about 1 or 2 possible bad reactions

- If it's a draw or losing: assertively/calmly show me something else

Full time

- If won than praise them
- If drew or lost then assertively chew them out

During the match

- If you do not have the lead after the 1st half, tell them assertively/calmly to demand more or push forward
- If you have the lead than for the last 20 minutes tell them to concentrate

Optional - If playing away against a much stronger opponent, at the beggining of both half you can tell them calmly that there is no pressure (of course there is xD )

Praising players

When your player have an average match rating above 7.60 for the last 5 games, you can interact with them and say they recent from is good. Only avoid to praise more than 4 players at the same time (obviously if you are on a winning streak and more then 4 players are red hot, then only praise the best 4) and do not praise the same player in the same month again. At least this is how I am doing things.

Seems good, I'll test when I can and post some results!

No OIs. In full version match prep would be match tactics until it gets fully fluid and def positioning afterwards, training is balanced.

I am glad to see it's working! Against Arsenal and Chelsea did you use counter?

yes I did :) but match agaist chelsea I played in home so maybe I should control, in second half I changed it and score goal ;)
after first half I lost 0:3

Anyway, 7 clean sheets in 11 matches are not bad, keep up the good work!

i fancy giving this a go in lower league, so ill have ago with wigan :)

Me personally have kept the tactic on counter as I haven't really got the squad to play a controlling game but great tactic if it works at Dundee it should work anywhere. Will post more screen shots towards and at the end of the season

Can the striker have another function, I really don't have a DF in my team, or will it disrupt the tactic when doing this ?
