i just cant seem to think why i never get many points playing away. i only ever do well in the league when i have brilliant home form. if i could just get more points away, there is no dought i could get atleast to the play-offs. does anyone know what i could be doing wrong? here are my tactics (i dont know how to do screenshots):

----gk----
dr dc dc dl
---dmc---
--mc mc--
amr ---aml
----fw----

mentality: normal
creativity: normal
passing style: direct
tempo: quick
width: wide
closing down: own half
time wasting: mixed
defensive line: deep
tackling: normal

man marking
counter attack

last season i finished 2 places outside the play-offs and just 4 point, i couldn't complain about my home form but my away form was terrible. does anyone know what im doing wrong?

as for your form it may be your team talk. u might expect too much of them seein as u r away from home or you might be getting caught on the counter counter attack as it looks like ur tactic is quite attacking even though u have a deep back line. also try zonal marking for a couple of games. it could be a few little things that need tweaked. i suggest using the pre-season friendlies for trying new things out

hope i helped

i used similar tactics when was luton, mine had same instructions but i use zonal marking and also used play maker and slightly different fromation

gk
dr dc dc dl

cm cm

amr amc aml

st

Seemed to work well enough for me away, hope it helps

thanks paddy, i might try dropping my am's back to just ml and mr, but as you said it looks abit attacking even then i get hammered on stats and struggle to score, oh well, better to get a draw than losing because of trying to get a goal

the chosen one, southampton use that tactic all the time when i play them and they always seem to beat me, just now i lost 4-1 away and yet when i try that tactic, nothin goes for me. stil cheers for helping

Are you conceeding or just not scoring?
What level are you playing at? I see playoffs so guessing league 1 or something.

I'd say:
- slow the tempo down, you don't need quick tempo to counter attack, they will speed up when there is a counter attack chance. the slower tempo should gain you possession, if opponent doesn't have the ball they can't score.
- Play Normal or Tight width. You can still tell you players to play down the flanks if both teams are tight formation.
- Is your ST a quick striker or a big target man? Stick him in the Targetman list (don't tick the box) then Play to Feet or to Head if he's a big targetman and HUB, if he's quick then Run Onto Ball.

Can't say much more without seeing how the matches play out. Might need to tweak the marking system such as making DMC zonal so he picks people who come into his area rather than double marking a MC or ST with one of your MCs or DCs. Might need to change the fwd runs and mentalities to get them in the right place depending on how deep the opponents defense is and if there FBs get forward.

im conceeding way to many goals.
and im in the championship with preston, and i know the teams in the championship are easily capable of scoring but conceeding the amount i do against the mid-table teams is rediculous.
my starting stricker is a target man (jon parkin wins alot of headers so i try and get the ball into the box from wide and hopefully he rises above everyone) but he just got injured for 4-5 months, so its going to be either karl hawley (not a very quick player, but isnt slow) or a loan stricker as im low on them.
