Awful first touch in 14.2?

Anyone noticed how poor player's first touches are in the new patch? Both mine and the oppositions first touches are absolutely horrific, playing as Newcastle in the Premier League so first touch stats are high. In open play it seems that players are incapable of controlling a ball (regardless of the speed at which the ball approaches them) without it bouncing 10 yards off of their boot. Also, I have my GK throw the ball to a defender (Usually Debuchy) and about one in every two times he touches the ball 10/15 yards to an opposition player, which has cost me a goal more than once.

This isn't really me moaning about how the game isn't fair, because the AIs players suffer too, it's just frustrating and unrealistic. Is this a general bug or just me?
 
First touch is very inconsistent, yes, also that pass one is a bug, I've seen a lot of people report that.
 
Havnt realy thought about it til now. Sometimes their first touch is awesome, sometimes they cant handle even simple 5 feet passes without knocking it twice as far. Just figured it had to do with form just like everything else.
 
That's one of my personal pet peeves, to be honest, particularly the frequency with which my defenders cede possession to the opposition in dangerous areas. Surely it must be toned down?

Completely agree with this. This issue has lead to two goals being conceded in my last two games, which has effectively lost me 4 points. Getting really frustrating now.

Whilst it is a bug and one that has cost you goals, it is also exactly the same for the opposition. So over the course of a season, it shouldn't make any difference to your results. Saying that, you might be able to take advantage by hassling opponents maybe.

Yeah I realise that, as I mentioned in the first post :)

The frustrating thing is the realism more than anything - both from my players and the opposition players. It looks silly watching a game where Premier League players have touches that send the ball 10 yards away from them haha. :)

PS. I might try the hassling opponents shout - makes a lot of sense to put more pressure on them if they can't control anything!
 
Eden Hazard with 19 first touch does it all the time in the game, for me. Can't get any worse than that TBH, frequently giving up the ball because of bad first touch.

is it a bad touch or is it because they have the "knocks ball past opponent" ppm?

It's the former, Knocks the ball past opponent happens when the player is already running with the ball, not when receiving, in the game.
