Ballon Dor/World Player Awards

Ok so I had a United save, and Rooney had a terrific season scoring 33 goals from October to May (he was injured up until October).

Most of his form was in the 2nd have of the season scoring 24 goals. Over the season he also made 22 Assists in the league.

Anyway next season comes & in the next season 1st game of the season he damages his cruciate ligaments in his knee, out for 8 months, so August till March/April time. So he basically missed nearly all the season. On the other hand I had Mata performing brilliantly with 57 assists for the whole calendar year & 26 goals. I also had bought Reus in my 1st season & he's been a gem, he broke the premier league goals record scoring 37 & up until december he had scored 18 for the next season.

Yet Rooney won the ballon dor? Reus won golden ball yet was in the subs for world team of the year, mata just squeezed in the subs too.

So my question is, are these awards ridiculously rigged? I know it's a game but surely that it is unrealistic by any stretch of the mind? I don't get how you can miss a third of the year & still win the most prestigious award in world football for a single player?
 
They pretty much ARE rigged.
I mean, you can't get anyone else to win it until Messi retires, so yeah.
 
The Ballon D'or in FM is decided by the highest average match rating. So in Liga BBVA it would be far easier to win since your up against worse teams with better players.

No they're not. My left back (2023) got an average rating of 8.15, Januzaj got 7.98 and Januzaj won it.

This. Julian Rubio is my favorite player (regen). He was superb the whole year/season. banged a goal a game. Yet my other player got it. Amelo was also beast though, along with brian woods.

The thing is, there wasnt a major intercontinental competetion, so Rubio should've won it basing only in Club games.

Rubio was awesome on big games also!.. Rigged. I was the manager of Arsenal, Just quit on Mid December to go to Dortmund as Arsenal is boring now.

definitely rigged somewhere, looking at that screenshot I'd say that rubio guy shoulda won but didnt :S
 
@mdmd - yup, incredibly frustrating, Amelo was also injured quite sometime. Rubio should've won it also last year with all the goals and assists, but Pogba in my save, was just monster.

Just ignore personal awards. They have absolutely no value in FM.
Unfortunately i lost my FM 2013 saves, but i had a similar screenshot for the first season, where Messi scored like 4-5 goals, assisted something similar, and i had John Terry banging in close to 15 goals in half a season. Needless to say he came out last with around 100 vote points.
Messi will probably win the Balon D'Or even if he isn't playing :D .
 
I think that the award is given based on the players Reputation value, which you can get a glimpse f by looking at their monetary value. That's why Messi always wins it.

He wasn't being played at Real Mad.
I think I got him for something like 45.5 mil, and then I got his wages down to 200k per week by offering him 50% of the next transfer. So yeah.
Transfer fee was kinda high, higher than I normally like, but the wages we're as bad as I thought they'd be.

on my save (this one) he got injured a lot & his stats went down (most of his stats technically & physically went down to 15, some even 14) was still performing when fit

Got him on a free although the ******* still wanted monster wages, talked him to 170 & wage after 30 games up to 220, but then my save corrupted -_-

He really is a great winger, he just powers past other players and has a great cross and a powerful shot.
It's just a pity he costs so much. :/
 
definitely one of the best on the game, very pricey though I agree
