Basque players question

I'm going to start a save with Athletic Bilbao and was wondering: is there any chance the game will create basque regens even outside Spain? it happens IRL to see players of basque heritage from South America (I know some from Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela). So anyone knows if this can happen in the game as well?
 
occasional france gets a few in my games :P and you can also sign spanish under 16 youths and they beomee basque if your athletic club :P

I'm half basque myself :P

I started a game once with Bilbao, never really got it going, BUT I had bought a regen in the first season from Argentinos Juniors in Argentina, he was Spanish/Argentine/Basque, so I assume you can get them from other places as well. You'll also notice several French regens, I spent most of my "FM Career" playing in France and I always got a couple Basque regens every year.
 
in fm 07 i think im nrly certain i got an irish guy with basque as his 2nd nationality
 
there would be enough regens for you ;)
some of them are 4 stars coming from your academy each season

aswell i have signed Basque regens from argentina,colombia,venezuela,france and some time even italians XD
 
This is all good news for me! Well I guess I'll have my scouts constantly searching the world for basque players, and also offer trials to any spanish U-16. I was actually surprised Athletic has a pretty good squad from the start plus some great prospects and the excellent Oscar already signed for next season.

If I can spot regens like that guy Sergio then future won't look bad for Bilbao. And an Irish/Basque would be super cool :)

most of the basque regens from abroad arent actually great :$
most of them are just 2 starts
trust in your academy you would get enough regens to win it all
if not visit osasuna and real sociedad 2 of the big basque players academy ;)
 
For the time being, make sure you get Ruffier, he's good and can get better.

thanks, and actually I remember Athletic always had amazing regens in my past games. Hope to see the same thing happening in THIS save!

thanks, he's definitely a target of mine though he doesn't come exactly cheap and I already have a reliable keeper. No doubt I'll keep monitoring him and try to sign him eventually.
 
If you dont mine me asking

What is Basque?
Is it a nation or something?

Yes, he isn't cheap, but he's very good. You can try to unsettle him, since you don't have an urgency regarding keepers for now.
