I've also lost faith on it. They gave the olympic games to China! (wtf?!).

Is a huge shame that this kind of events are allowed to be organized by countries which infricts human rights so much.

i.e. now the controversy about Qatar is regarding homosexuality, as it is punished and pursued there.

You can't judge a country by it's bad side.
You think China is a communist country so they're gonna start world war? No!

We don't think we're better, we know. Even though there's a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to freedom of speech and liberties (Wikileaks the most recent), we generally don't stone women for adultery, make soup out of albinos for sexual powers or imprison people for wanting basic human rights.

Well yes, Samaranch occupied some public office during dictatorship, so I don't know how much did he care about human rights

It's nothing to do with thinking western countries are better than the rest.
It's clear that there are many wrong things here as well, but some countries can't just resist the comparition.

That's why I think some countries should'nt be given events like those.
