Foreword: Hi guys! Some of you may remember I tried this out a couple years back (original post: http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...arios/156691-become-manager-into-unknown.html), and while it started alright, it quickly fell apart due to some unforseen errors, and a fucktonne of uni work. So, now considering that a beta test (and extending my apologies to anyone who was involved and was left with a bitter taste), having finished up with uni for good and being inspired by FM once more, I've worked out the kinks from last time, and hope to bring back the experience bigger and better this time around. So, without further ado, I present the flavour text!
Following the scandal from the previous Football Managers' Invitational League, FIFA have since been reluctant to cater to those wishing to invest their money into so-called "super leagues". However, a group of wealthy investors, who wish to remain anonymous, have pooled together their resources, and complied a business plan which even FIFA cannot find reason to refuse. Thus, the FM Invitational was born again. As before, the group wish to showcase untapped managerial talent from around the world, and invite applications for the chance to manage in what will potentially become one of the worlds most illustrious competitions.
Once again, a 23-man squad will be allocated (once again using FUTheads random player generator). However, this time around, squads will be allocated differently, owing to the imbalance of squads last time around. Thus, the following qualities will be used:
8 Gold standard players
8 Silver standard players
5 Bronze standard players
2 Wildcard players (random quality players, weighted towards improving squad depth in positions which may be absent or lacking in cover)
Each team will be given a transfer embargo until the winter window, ensuring that initial squads are used. Each club will be given enough finances to comfortably cover club running costs and wages over this period. Further, each club will be given a 20,000 seater stadium, and good training and youth facilities. The group do request that each club name their stadium, and that each manager have an input into the club name and kit design.
Owing to the initial transfer embargo, no club will be given a starting transfer budget. However, the group stress that money will not be an issue. Indeed, prize money for the league (and to a lesser extent, the cup) will be huge, and further money will be awared based on point gain (£1m per point). This money may be used as the manager sees fit.
