Inspired by http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...tories/120977-three-lions-god-save-queen.html i have decided to begin an International game of FM13 which will hopefully lead to me becoming a top international manager. Feel free to follow as my journey starts here......

IRELAND APPOINT MOORE AS TRAPPATONI STEPS DOWN!
The first job given to Moore is to ensure that Ireland have a successful World Cup Qualification campaign in

Moore also has to deal with the departure of Assistant Manager Marco Tardelli.

"Being English will not stop me doing my best!" Says Moore
In his first press conference Moore stated that the fact he is English will not stop him from doing his best for Ireland. He also stated that he will be looking for the team to be balanced between attack and defence as well as keeping Robbie Keane inserted as Captain.

Well here's to a successful career..... 1st up vs. Cyprus

Ireland boss Stuart Moore has seen fit to surround himself with a lot of International experience since taking over including Gary Breen, Ray Houghton and more. Moore hoped that this will help his current crop of players to develop with the help of previous legends.

INJURY BLOW TO IRELAND
Just 10 days before their friendly vs. Cyprus, Ireland will have to do without key striker Jonathan Walters as he has been sidelined with an ankle injury. In a conference before watching captain Robbie Keane play for LA Galaxy Moore stated "I have spoken to Jonathan Walters and it is unfortunate to say that he will miss out on Cyprus but i sent the best wishes of the team and the players for a speedy recovery.

La Galaxy emerged 3-0 winners with Keane grabbing all 3 goals.

Stuart Moore has announced his first Ireland squad for the friendly vs. Cyprus. The squad includes many players looking for their first caps and injuries have forced the likes of Jonathan Walters and Kevin Doyle to be omitted.

However on the eve of the friendly Goalkeeper Colin Doyle suffered a concussion and was unable to compete. His place in the squad went to David Forde.

Given Retires!

Irish legend Shay Given has decided to pass on the gloves to a predecessor as he announced his retirement from International Football. It is believed that Moore has plans in his mind for Given to become a coach in the Irish set up.

CYPRUS 2-2 IRELAND

In his first match in charge Stuart Moore watched his Ireland side battle back twice to secure a 2-2 draw in an eventful first half in Cyprus. Both James McClean and Robbie Keane struck to prevent too much embarrassment. With less than a month until World Cup qualification begins the team seemed satisfied with the result with assistant Houghton stating "I think the boys performed admirably as underdogs away from home and showed fight. Experience and time will see the team improve. A big legacy has been left behind to follow."

The Irish lads have jetted back to their respective countries and teams without any media comment but this next month will be key in shaping Ireland's qualification campaign.

Ireland Starting XI: Randolph, Coleman, Clark, Pearce, Tierny, McClean, McCarthy, Pilkington, McGeady, Keane, Long
Subs: Westwood (45), Forde, O'Shea (55), Wilson(55), Gibson, Kelly, Whelan, Duff (70), *** (70)

A disappointing start to their World Cup qualifyin
g saw Ireland go down 2-0 in Sweden with two goals from CB Alemback. Ireland were denied a route back into the game when Walters' cross was flicked in by *** however the referee judged that *** had impeded the goalkeeper. Moore spoke to local press after the match and stated his team had not shown the desire to take anything from the match.
Meanwhile Paddy Kenny was down-heartened at the result and Irish media suggested that Ireland needed to learn fast before they lose their way in qualifying.

Ireland 2-0 Kazakhstan

Ireland turned on the style in an impressive win on home soil against Kazakhstan. Despite the low score the result was never in doubt as a Shane Long double saw the team coast to victory. Long, Whelan and Hammill also forced impressive saves from the keeper while *** hit the woodwork.

Ireland have been dealt a blow by the fact that midfielder Damien Duff has hung up his boots! This has left Moore with an inexperienced pool for future squad selection.

Ireland vs Ivory Coast arranged!
A potential friendly between Ireland and Ivory Coast has been agreed for November 19th at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. It is another chance for Moore's squad to test their progress against a solid and strong cohort.

Ireland 1-1 Germany Aviva Stadium, Dublin, 19.45ko

World-Cup-Qualifiers-Ireland-vs-Germany-194346.jpg

A spirited fight on a warm Irish evening saw Stuart Moore's side overcome a stern test in front of a raucous audience. Germany lead early from a Graumann penalty after Richard Stearman fouled Stock. From there Germany piled on the pressure and Ireland keeper Paddy Kenny escaped embarrassment after being lobbed from far out only to see the ball hit the bar. In the second half Ireland fought back and it was Simon *** who eventually found the equaliser after a McGeady knock forward was flicked past the German defence by *** who chased his own flick, knocked the ball around the keeper and buried it comfortably with 11 minutes left to play. The last chance of the match fell the Green Army's way as Glen Whelan fired a half volley through some bodies and saw it parried away.

Ireland boss Stuart Moore said he was proud of his teams achievement and joked in the press conference "Roll on Austria"

Austria 1-1 Ireland

A very subdued match in which neither team shone. Ireland dominated the possession stakes with McGeady and O'Shea causing the biggest problems for Austria. Simon *** opened the scoring following his goal vs Germany however just 3 minutes later Jantshcer cancelled it out with a toe poke in front of Whelan and Paddy Kenny.

A respectable hard fought draw in the sun was good enough for Ireland and showed good progress from the team in preparation for World Cup Qualifying.
