Richard Branson completes Newcastle takeover
Billionaire pledges to return Newcastle to the 'Bobby Robson era'
Billionaire Virgin owner Richard Branson has completed a ?292 million deal to take complete control over Newcastle United. Branson revealed the deal had been on the rocks for three years before finally agreeing to purchase the North East club. Branson told BBC Sport in an exclusive interview; "I'm delighted that the deal has finally been done! It's been a dream to own a football club and I have great aspirations for this great club." When asked of previous owner Mike Ashley, who is infamously known to be despised by Newcastle fans, Branson said; "I know the fans didn't like Mike, but they should. He sold the club to me! Mike cared for the club and he did make a significant investment." Branson went on to promise significant investment into the rebuilding of the squad. Alan Pardew's future was not addressed in the interview but BBC sources have indicated that Pardew will resign along with the coaching staff.

Alan Pardew resigns
Pardew leaves amid Richard Branson takeover
Alan Pardew has left Newcastle after three and a half years as manager. Pardew was the second longest serving manager in the Premier League but the fifty-two year old has decided to leave the Magpies. Pardew released a statement via the LMA.
It is with a heavy heart I have decided to resign as Newcastle manager,
I want to thank the fans, the staff and the players who stood by me while I was in charge. I had a delightful time at the club, most notably the 2011-12 season where the club finished fifth. Winning Premier League Manager of the Year was an honour which I will talk about until I grow old. For me, it is the start of a new chapter in my life potentially with a new club. For now, I am going to take a holiday to Spain with my family.
Reports are circulating in the Netherlands that Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp has flown to England to speak with Richard Branson. However, reports in Italy are stating that Richard Branson has met with former AC Milan manager Massimilano Allegri in Rome.

NEWCASTLE KITS LEAKED
Newcastle's kits for the upcoming season have been leaked by our sources. Virgin Money have replaced Wonga as the club shirt sponsors and the club have gone for more simple kits compared to recent years. The away shirt has drawn praise from fans with the black, white and gold shirt expected to sell in large numbers

Newcastle United have appointed Dennis Bergkamp as their new manager on a one year deal.
The Dutchman had been working as the Ajax assistant manager for two years.
The 44-year-old becomes Newcastle's tenth permanent manager in ten years.
"This is a club with tremendous history and prestige and I am honoured to have been given this opportunity to be its manager." Bergkamp told Sky Sports News. "I've spoken to the owner, he has high ambitions for this club and I was honoured to have been offered the job. There were huge names linked to the job, experienced European Cup winning managers but I was fortunate enough to get my chance to shine on the big stage." He added.
Bergkamp will be joined by many Ajax staff who have decided to join St. James Park. Ajax manager Frank De Boer's departure is a key reason as to why the staff have also left. De Boer was sacked from Ajax for consistently linking himself to other jobs, notably the Tottenham Hotspur job which has since gone to Mauricio Pochettino. Owner Richard Branson told Sky Sports that Dennis had potential to emulate or even better the accomplishments of the late Sir Bobby Robson.
"Dennis has those qualities, it's clear to see. I'm surprised to see that he wasn't snapped up sooner! I spoke to him in Amsterdam and with Ajax losing pretty much their entire coaching staff, I had to swoop for Dennis. Clubs were after him, Inter Milan, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and I read a report that Manchester United had considered him for their job before giving it to Louis Van Gaal. He's a continental coach with the potential to be a top European manager, it was only a matter of time before he was given a managerial job."

Newcastle appoint Frank De Boer as Director of Football
Dutchman joins Ajax invasion at Newcastle
Frank De Boer has been appointed Director of Football at Newcastle replacing the highly unsuccessful Joe Kinnear. De Boer was sacked by Ajax three weeks ago for persistently linking himself to other jobs. De Boer was assisted by Newcastle boss Dennis Bergkamp at Ajax and will work again with the Non Flying Dutchman in a off pitch capacity. De Boer told Sky Sports; "When I got the call from Richard, I was on the first plane to England. Newcastle are a club that are set to return to the heights achieved under Sir Bobby Robson. Also, I joined because the club's staff are predominantly from Ajax and the fact they left en masse to support me brought a tear to my eye and I jumped at the chance to work with them." De Boer also asserted he will have no interference with picking the teams and transfers. "I've been told that I can make offers for players but it's completely up to Dennis whether to confirm them, I also get rid of players who I'm told are to leave. Dennis is the manager and I am the Director of Football." De Boer has reportedly helped Dennis Bergkamp in transfer negotiations to keep Loic Remy at Newcastle.

Looks a good read, I will follow.

Richard Branson invests in Gateshead
Newcastle owner Richard Branson has invested three million pounds in Gateshead Football Club. Gateshead have had a long association with Newcastle and the billionaire has said this is to help grassroots football in the North East. He said in an interview, "For me, grassroots football is essential to to the top level of football. Eventually, Premier League clubs will realise that they can't just bring in the next star from France or Spain, they need to develop English youngsters. I may have bought Newcastle and invested, but this won't be for seasons to come, this is to build a new training ground, new youth facilities and I've brought in the staff from Ajax who are notorious for developing youngsters. I want Gateshead to develop youngsters who can help Gateshead achieve promotions or they can come to Newcastle and help the club. The relationship between these two clubs goes beyond the term 'feeder club'." Gateshead owner Graham Wood was notably excited after Branson's investment.
"I'm delighted that Richard Branson has invested in our club. He owns Newcastle who are up the road and many Gateshead fans follow Newcastle. With this large sum, we can help this club return to the Football League which is our number one priority along with playing in the Football League with core developed English players.

With the squad ready to compete in the Premier League and tactics integrated into the team, I dove into the transfer window and made a significant impact.

Papiss Cisse has left for Lazio for ?7 million, I wish our former number nine the best.
Gabriel Obertan failed to reach potential and he's now plying his trade at Hull.
Jonas Gutierez slowly fell out with the management and was sold at a cut price to Queens Park Rangers
Ryan Taylor wanted to leave after recieving an offer from QPR and I reluctantly accepted his request
Jak Alnwick went to Arsenal for a small fee, however, Newcastle will recieve 50% of a future sale
Yoan Gouffran was part of an inflated area so I decided to ship him to Marseille for his career, all the best to him.
Sylvain Marveaux didn't cut it at Newcastle so he's packed his bags and flown out to Spain.

Newcastle lacked wingers and Townsend was suggested by Frank De Boer. Also, his Home-Grown status is a reason as to purchasing the Englishman. He is unlikely to be a starter game in and game out, however he will be making appearances throughout the course of the season.

Newcastle were in dire need of a backup goalkeeper should anything happen to Tim Krul with Rob Elliot not good enough to play in the Premier League and Jak Alnwick who was our then third choice keeper off to Arsenal. I decided to bring in Tomasz who has Premier League experience and had two fairly successful seasons at Brighton and Hove Albion. Tomasz is unlikely to make many appearances in the Premier League, however he will be our number one choice for cup games.

Tom Ince is oozing potential and being available for just three million pounds was an absolute steal, I believe he may not break into the first team mould this season and I should of loaned him back to Blackpool, with this in mind, Frank De Boer is attempting to loan him out. In the future, I can see Thomas Ince becoming a Newcastle legend.

Menez was vying for a move away from PSG, he was in negotiations with various clubs. The Fiorentina manager made a plea for Menez to sign for them. He was talking to Arsenal, Fiorentina, there were reports that Menez was set to move to Monaco before our interest stepped up. Menez is a utility player in the sense he can play on the wings and also do a job up front and his value is only set to soar.

Griezmann is a hot talent and with help from Frank De Boer, the club fended off Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG in order to get his signature. Griezmann is a talented left winger who can play on the right and centre if needed. He is likely to be a regular in the team this season and I'm delighted that he agreed to sign for us.

I played with Ashley until he left Arsenal in 2005, I was upset in how he left, but he made the right decision for his career. It was nice to catch up with him, I spoke to him and his agent and I offered him a contract. There were no other suitors who wanted to pay his wage demands. I put in a fifty percent of his future sales to go to Ashley to help lower his wage demands, what he doesn't know is that I have no intention of selling him. In an ideal world, he will coach the defenders or he will retire and move to a country where he doesn't cheat on his wife or stab a football club in the back. I brought him in because he is one of the best left backs in the world, that doesn't change the fact I dislike him.

Arguably, the best free agent who was unattached. Eto'o is a world class striker at the age of 32. Eto'o has won the Champions League with Barcelona, played at Inter Milan and Chelsea. He did have a spell at Anzhi clearly for the money but he has come to Newcastle to play football, and make 135,000 a week. Eto'o has been given the Number 9 jersey which is an honour, I hope Eto'o repays that faith by scoring goals while he is here. Eto'o will also bring in a shed load of money in shirt sales which will most likely cover his signing and agent fees.

Carlos Vela joins us after a great season with Real Sociedad. We fought off interest from Manchester City and we brought in the Mexican for eleven million which is a bargain for a player of Vela's ability. Vela can play on the wings and up front which makes eleven million sound even better.

Diame had a small release clause and is a top midfielder, I brought him in to play most games this season because he is a great midfielder. If his time at the club doesn't go too well, we can sell him for a profit. However, I believe Diame will make a great contribution towards our season.

Pjanic is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world in my eyes. Pjanic comes into a Newcastle side in dire need of a Centre Attacking Midfielder and Pjanic fits the bill. This move was done by Frank De Boer and hats off to him, he did a great job. Expect Pjanic to be a regular starter.

Gareth Barry was signed after our second game of the season in which I noticed we lacked centre midfielders, I brought him in as a backup although he could do a job regularly if he stakes his place in the team. Plus, he is a likely replacement for a certain player who has fallen out with the management.

NEXT UPDATE WILL BE A SQUAD LIST AND OUR FIRST FIXTURES

Leicester put in a good performance but Pjanic and Griezmann outclassed everyone to earn our second win of the season. We end September in third place, to be there come may would be a dream. However, that's all it is. A dream.

ME: Roland, I can't just sign you and put you into the first team.
Look, what I can do is call Marc Overmars and ask for a favour.
Your welcome kid, say hello to your dad for me. See you later.
(PUTS PHONE DOWN)

ME: Henrita, come and sit down. We can order dinner.
(PHONE RINGS AGAIN)
HENRITA: Who is that? Your phone keeps buzzing!
ME: It's Frank. I'll be outside if you need me.

ME: Frank, what can I do for you?
FRANK: Dennis, you need to call Cheikh. Now.
ME: Why? What's up?
FRANK: He went apeshit to the press, says his fine was unfair.
ME: Why that...
FRANK: No time to slag him off Dennis, he wants a word with you. Call him.
ME: I don't have his number.
FRANK: It's on your work phone, I have to go. One thing, if Cheikh leaves, I've got a replacement.
DENNIS: Who?
...................................................

TEN MINUTES LATER:
CHEIKH: Hello?
DENNIS: Cheikh! What the **** are you doing?
CHEIKH: Telling the media my troubles, that fine was unfair!
DENNIS: No it bloddy wasn't! You got red carded, I gave you a fine of a weeks wages. It was a straight red card.
CHEIKH: I feel it was unfair.
DENNIS: Well, I'm the manager and you need to respect my decisions, don't go doing something stupid. The media will twist this
CHEIKH: Oh well, I've done something. What are you going to do?
DENNIS: Are you going down this road? Want to throw away the fans support over a petty fine?
CHEIKH: Yeah, I can't work with you anymore.
DENNIS: Fine, consider this your transfer listing. You're done with this club. You can come in tomorrow morning and say goodbye to the squad, pack your things and leave. If we can't get a move for you, you can sit in the reserves. You made the call Cheikh. Not me.
CHEIKH: **** you.
DENNIS: Have a good evening Cheikh.

[h=1]Sky Sources: Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran in talks with Newcastle[/h]
torres_juanfran640-624x351.jpg

Sky Sources have reported that Juanfran is in talks with Newcastle over a January transfer
Newcastle have made plans for January with Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran on top of their list. Newcastle chose not to sign a right back in the summer instead relying on Davide Santon to play on the right when needed, however an injury to Ashley Cole sustained against West Brom has seen Dennis Bergkamp instruct Frank De Boer to source out a right back. Cole was injured on Saturday against the Baggies and he will be out for 4 to 5 weeks. Our sources have informed us that due to Cole's age and proneness to injury, the club can't rely on Davide Santon to cover for Matieu Debuchy and Ashley Cole. Reports have circulated that a bid of ?4 million was made however no announcement will be made until December at the earliest.

Great signings, and a good start.

Can't believe I beat Arsenal! I didn't celebrate out of respect and love for the Gunners. It was great to take three points against a great side. It was great to see Arsene, Steve, the coaches, Gael Clichy is back at Arsenal and it was great to see him too. We took nine points from these three games when I was expecting four. I'm so proud of my team. We end September top of the league and I win my first Manager of the Month award!
