Hi,

I was wondering what laptop I should get. I'd love one that I can play FM on to the fullest effect (no lag, full graphics, bigger database, etc.).

I was thinking of getting a MacbookAir. I'm not too up on specifications of laptops though.

Thanks,
Aidan

Some are recommending certain Acer laptops?

MacBook Airs can be boosted up to 2.7GHz so it should run pretty well. Although, for the price you'd probably be able to get a Windows that is better, performance-wise, but Mac's are superior in almost every way IMO, they're much more reliable, better built and have really nice screen resolutions. I have a 5 year old 2.2GHz Sony Vaio, and I'm able to load 5 nations with a large database with no problems, so I imagine a MacBook Air would run great.

Used to have an Acer, was about 3 years ago, and it was *****, they might be better now though.

I have an Alienware. It's pretty good. I run 160,000 players and most major leagues ;)

Any half decent laptop with 8GB of RAM, you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the replies - really appreciate it.

Is an i5 Intel CPU and 8Gb of RAM enough to play FM on high detail with a large database, around ten countries loaded and around 85,000 players, say, with five star game speed?

The high detail will depend on the graphics card, as for whether it will load what you've asked, i doubt it, only reason i say that is because i myself have an Intel i7 and 8GB RAM, and i've loaded 9 nations and i only have 60,000 players with a large database and my star rating is 2.

Although, i have the lower end of the Intel i7 because i had one of the first generations of it so my CPU Speed is only 2.2Ghz so that may affect the star rating.
