So, I was just wondering what the best PPMs for various positions. Most of my players are young, and hence have almost no PPM, so was wondering which to train them in.

GK - ? (Plays his way out of trouble, maybe?)
LB - Mark Opponents tightly (Any others necessary?)
CB - Mark Opponents tightly
RB - Mark Opponents tightly
BWM - ?
CM/DLP - ?
AML/AMR (Wingers/ IF) - ?
Strikers - Shoots with Power, Places Shots.

I generally use 2 CM, 2 wingers and an ACM and striker. Balanced Fluidity, with mentality either Counter or Standard.

Keeping that in mind, what PPMs should I get my strikers to learn? Also, Mitrovic can't learn either 'Placing Shots' or 'Lobbing the keeper when 1 on 1' T_T I don't know what else to put for defenders, btw..

It all depends on your style of play, ppm's are suitable according to your style.

GK - None

LB/RB - Depends a lot on your style- hug touchline, get forward whenever and run down the left/right with the ball for wing backs, mark tightly for more defensive full backs.
CB - Mark tight if they're quick and tall.

BWM - Mark tightly depending on how aggressive you want them to be going after the ball, dives into tackles plays into this but expect a lot of cards.
CM - Shoots from distance, shoots with power and curls ball(only if they have good long shots and they get forward), gets forward whenever, plays one twos (short passing high tempo), arrives late in area
DLP - Depends how good he is, dictates tempo, tries killer balls, comes deep to get ball(depending on how you play), plays one twos (short passing high tempo)

AML/AMR - Wingers - hugs line, runs with ball down left/right, knocks ball past(if they're fast enough),
- IF - Plays one twos(short + high tempo), curls ball, shoots from distance+power(again only if they have decent long shots), cuts inside, likes to switch ball is quite nice too if you have two good wide players.

St - TM or deeper STs -Shoots with power if poor composure or plays deeper along with shoots from distance, plays with back to goal, comes deep for ball, tries first time shots
- Skillful/pacey/poachers - places shots, likes to lob/go around GK, likes to beat offside trap, moves into channels or runs through middle,

Thanks for those tips ^_^ I was confused regarding what to do, especially with my midfielders.. T_T My BWM have excellent PPMs, so they're not the issue. I got Ward-Prowse on learning Killer Balls, and then maybe Plays One-Twos. I use him as a DLP or a CM. I'm still debating on what to do with my wingers;; Their PPMs mean they won't come across at all to score goals. Although I use a TM, and still prefer wingers over IF, I'm wondering if it's a good move to do..

Also, I use Clyne as a FB on Automatic. He has 'Gets Forward whenever possible' and actually gets some low ratings in matches. Is this a deal-breaker, and should I get him to unlearn it? Or just change his role to CWB>?

Would be awesome if some moderators could update some old guides to FM 14.

that's the thing, the ppm's for roles hasn't really changed.

Yeah ppm's are one thing that has remained pretty much the same throughout the last few games, odd one or two may have been replaced but they all interact much the same way.
I guess it could be reposted but again isn't likely much need.

Well i guess not alot people would find these guides. Maybe if you guys could make a special tab with approved guides which explain clearly what they do etc. like Mike's i think it'd be awesome for alot of people coz it'd make it easier to find these things.
