Hey guys,
I am managing Rushall in the Vanarama North and we were promoted through the playoffs. Most of my squad isn't going to be good enough for the next level but the ones that I want to re-sign since I only signed them to one year contracts all want a big pay increase. I was wondering when would be the best time to resign them, one month before their contracts expire, or let them expire and resign immediately afterwards in the hopes that they reduce their wage demands?
Also, when do things like promotion pay increases go into effect? If I sign someone on the last day of the transfer window in March with a 30% pay increase on promotion do they still get a higher wage even though they'll be on my squad for like two months? Thanks for any help.
