I'm currently playing as Stockport County in the BSP. Sitting top of the league half way through the first season and just drawn West Bromwich Albion at home in the third round of the FA Cup.

Can anyone suggest any good tactics to employ to get a positive result, as a good cup run and the money it brings would be of great benefit. I use an attacking 4-2-4 in the league, but feel this would leave me too open at the back against better opponents.

Thanks.

Well I assume WBA will play 4-2-3-1. If so you could play 4-5-1 so every one of their players has a direct opponent and you can try and stifle them. Play a negative strategy such as counter of defensive, narrow width, deep D-line, stand off opponents. Use a quick striker and set him as Target man to run onto ball and also put the tempo high to try and set up counter attacks. Match prep set to defensive positioning and try to set up some good set piece instructions.

Just played the game and managed to hold out for a 0-0 draw!!!
