I'm with Lille in my first season. For the 1st half of the season Moussa Sow was banging them in, and is current top scorer in Ligue 1. He got injured which kept him out for a few games, and since he came back he has been awful and hasn't scored.

Before he was finishing perfectly, now every time he has a shot he blasts it over. I tried changing his player instructions slightly, his morale is good, i've had a private chat, and i say "i have faith" before every game. This seems to happen a lot with strikers, dunno if its a bug or what.

change up the team talk, say you expect a performance from him! let him play in the reserves, get his ave rating up and gain a bit of confidence! get someone to tutor him

I avoided this problem altogether by organising friendlies against "very small teams" on the monday night, and picking players who have poor morale or lack fitness. THey still recover by the following saturday and usually win by 7 or 8 goals.

Ive got a similar problem with Tevez, He scored 47 goals in 53 appearances last season and now he hasnt even hit double figures yet and its January. All I did was change my tempo from fairly high to fairly slow (but still normal if that makes sense). So any ideas would be great!

I have problems with my strikers, Dzeko scored about 3 all season, Lukaku has scored 4 all season, Huntelaar has scored 10 all season

Are you rotating them alot? Ive sorted my problem out by not subbing Tevez everygame and hes scoring for fun again

Well i've sold Huntelaar now for profit before his stats start dropping (he's 30).

Dzeko always starts; he went 11 hours without scoring recently
Lukaku is doing slightly better
Carlos Vela plays nothing like his stats, he's supposed to be quick and can finish but does neither of those things
Sergio Araujo is hit and miss (mostly miss)

Moussa Sissoko is almost my top scorer from centre mid

EDIT: I'm just lucky the team has only conceded 8 goals in about 25 games. Lots of 1-0 wins

Well so you play with one striker? if so is he a target man?

With strikers, experiment with their individual mentality setting (IE, attacking/normal/defending slider) and also creative freedom. Look at their shots to shots on target ratio in games to determine which works best.

If you have the attacking setting and creative freedom set way up, the player will not be as calculated with his strikes. Only the most technically gifted and composed players will function well with very high settings in these categories.

Also, preferred moves make a huge difference. For target men, setting "plays with back to goal" helps them receive passes in more advantageous positions to either turn and score or lay off accurately for assists. I've found the "tries first time shots/places shots" combination results in a ton of goals, especially for poachers (see Chicharito in real life). I've also seen "tries first time shots" work for target men as well. The keeper is often rooted to the spot against these players.

On the team side, make sure you are creating chances and supplying the chances to score. If you look at your stats after matches and see your striker is only getting a few shots on goal per game, you may need to look at the overall system. This is probably conservative but, if I'm playing with a target man, I want to generate at least five shots for him per match.
