Club Background
Everton Football Club /ˈɛvərtən/ is an English Premier League football club based in Liverpool. The club have competed in the top division for a record 110 seasons (missing only four seasons, all at level 2) and have won the League Championship nine times.[3]
Formed in 1878, Everton were founding members of The Football League in 1888 and won their first league championship two seasons later. Following four league titles and two FA Cup wins, Everton experienced a lull in the immediate post World War Two period until a revival in the 1960s which saw the club win two league championships and an FA Cup. The mid-1980s represented their most recent period of success, with two League Championship successes, an FA Cup, and the 1985 European Cup Winners' Cup. The club's most recent major trophy was the 1995 FA Cup. The club's supporters are known as Evertonians.
Everton have a rivalry with neighbours Liverpool and the two sides contest the Merseyside derby. The club have been based at Goodison Park since 1892.

Following David Moyes' departure to Old Trafford, Everton appointed rookie manager Rudney. The call was questioned by many, as the 25 year old had no previous managerial experience. Despite the tragic loss of their manager and appointment of a newbie, the Everton players and staff were ready to improve on their 2012/13 season.

Season 2013/14
Goals
-Finish in the top 6 in the Premier League
-Make it to the semifinals of either the FA Cup or League Cup

Pre-Season 2013/14

First pre-season game of the season, and it's a 1-1 draw in Holland against Eredivisie side Zwolle. Would've expected a win, but as it's pre-season I really don't care much

Second game and it's against SPL side St. Johnstone. Really good win here, Lukaku getting a goal here, he's one to watch out for this season

Next up is a trip to Spain to face Real Sporting SAD of the Liga Adelante. Lukaku netting the only two goals of the game coming four minutes apart. Like I said, watch him this season.

Another Spanish side, except this time it's at Goodison Park and it's the Madrid side Atletico. We played a decent game against a world class squad, and Romelu scored once again.

New signing Arouna Kone getting the lone goal, maybe showing me that he can take the starting striker spot, leaving Lukaku on the bench.

And Lukaku put Kone back in his place by scoring 2 goals against Cagliari, a decent Serie A team. Local lad Ross Barkley also scored a brace, he will be a key young player to watch out for.

The final pre-season game and it's a 2-0 win against Southport away from home. New signing (spoiler alert) Michael Dawson gets the opener and we finish the job, keeping the clean sheet

Summer Transfers

Two major first team signings, first is Michael Dawson from Tottenham to partner Phil Jagielka at centerback. Next is Mohamed Diame signed from West Hame signed for well below his market value due to a release clause in his contract. Nikica Jelavic leaves the club as I felt we had enough strikers and he would provide needed revenue from his sale.
*Note: I had to black out the bottom player as he was a January transfer.

What better way to start off our season than a match against our greatest rivals? I would've loved to have won this game and I thought we were gonna take the victory after Kevin Mirallas scored after 24 minutes, but Damiao equalizes for them and we end up drawing 1-1. Not a bad result, but I'm not overly pleased either

Our second game of the month and we travel to Wales to face newly promoted Cardiff City. I was thinking we were headed for a scoreless afternoon, but Pienaar came up big with the winner with 7 minutes left in regulation.

Now for the League Cup game, and I felt sorry for Plymouth this night. Mirallas with a brace, Lukaku with 4(!) goals, Dawson and Pienaar each getting one and to top it off one of their players gets an own goal. A dominating performance, and we're through to the next round

Great result at home against a very good Southampton side. Lukaku making it 6 goals in 4 games for him this month.

Overall this was very a good start to life at the club. 3 wins and a draw from 4 games isn't bad at all although I would've loved to have beaten Liverpool in front of our supporters

Player of the Month

I'm not sure any player really stood out this month, but Mirallas impressed getting a goal and MotM against Liverpool and 2 goals against Plymouth. Lukaku's four goals against Plymouth were also very good to see from the loanee as well as his 2 against Southampton to open his PL scoring record with us

Keep 'em coming. I really enjoy a good Everton story (partly because of my extreme dislike for L'pool).

The highlight of my short career so far. We completely played them off the pitch, they didn't have an answer. Luckily the injuries to Mirallas and Kone weren't serious.

I got worried here when Cameron Jerome put them ahead in the first half, but we responded well. A goal a piece from each of our centerbacks and from Mirallas. Good, solid away win.

Another game at Palace but this time it's the League Cup. Lukaku is scoring for fun in this competition, hopefully we can get him firing in the league.

And here is Lukaku showing what he can do. Very impressive defending from us, the Dawson-Jagielka partnership is shutting down the league

What more can I ask from the boys? 4 wins from 4 games , scoring 11 and conceding just 1. Our defending has been outstanding so far.

Player of the Month

With a goal against Crystal Palace and leading his team to 3 clean sheets in 4 games and only 1 conceded is Michael Dawson. He has been a rock at the back and has provided added leadership to an already experienced back line. Many pundits are already calling him the bargain signing of the season at only 3.4 million.
