Birmingham City today announced the signing of J.Jones on a 3 year contract.
Jones a surprise choice considering the other candidates that included ex Man City managers Mark Hughes and Stuart Pearce has been set the target of turning Birmingham City a recognised Premier League side to compete for Europe.
Jones, who is said to be buoyed by the move has got to work straight away on improving a side that in his words "now has to build on the foundations in place and add some support", hopes to make considerable movement in the transfer market this summer.
Asked where he will look to improve, Jones replied "each player will have the chance to impress me, once they have been given the chance, then i will make my decision on who stays and who goes"
up until today Birmingham have been linked with several stars as they aim to survive in the Premier league and avoid relegation to the Championship, a trend followed for the past 3 years.
Targets of Jones are said to be Scott Parker, Otamandi and Eduardo Salvio. Jones has also hinted today that the club may be interested in signing 1 or two strikers, the key however is price and age.
Carson Yeung today spoke of his joy to work with Jack Jones and has announced that Jones will have a kitty of around 20 million to spend on new signings and any money made from sales will go directly into the transfer kitty.
So here we go, im starting as Birmingham City and will post after pre season to show who i've signed and who i've sold
20 million to spend
475 k on wages, (100k on new signings)
