Birmingham City - League finish and players brought in.

I'm in my first season, 25 games in lying in 9th place, I aimed for 'Continental qualification through league finish' due to the transfer funds of £50m... I brought in;

Miles Addison £4m
Lacina Traore £1.5m
Fabio Coentrao £8.5m
Hernanes £13m
Magnus Eikrem (Loan fee) £130k
Anthony Annan £3.5m
Makoto Hasebe £3.5m
Clint Dempsey £9.5m
and finally in January - Fernando Gago £4.9m

My best buy was either Anthony Annan, picks up a lot of yellow cards but gets the job done in CDM and hardly loses the ball, or Lacina Traore who has about 10 goals in 20 games for a 18/19 year old bought for £1.5m.

So, for those who have been Birmingham City, what is your highest finish in the league in your first season in charge, what did you aim for and what players have you bought that really fit in that you could recommend?

9.5M for Dempsey? I'd rather buy Abou Diaby for the same price..

I managed to finish 12th on my save but I arrived in January, after a season managing CSKA Moscow, when the club looked like certain relegation candidates and McLeish got the sack.

I brought in Keisuke Honda (MC) and Tomas Necid (ST) from my old club for £8m and £4m respectively, aswell as signing Joe Hart on permanently and I bought Fausto Pinto (DL) for £2mil.

Second season now and aiming to get into the Europa League

Even when you need a winger because all's you have is like McFadden and Larsson? OK.

Well done but I'm gonna aim for top 7 in first season! Good signing in Honda and I hope you qualify for Europa
