Rookie Manager takes over
Blackpool have today annouced the arrival of an unheard of manager. Craig Todd, 29, takes over today from Ian Holloway in an attempt to keep Blackpool in the Championship over the 2009/2010 period. He signs a 2 year deal worth £1,800 a week. He has straight away signed former Blackpool player and academy graduate Trevor Sinclair, also former Manchester City, Cardiff and West Ham Player. Sinclair will be Todd's Number 2 and will make £500 a week.
Todd gets to work
Todd has successfully managed to sign to players on trial to Blackpool. Former Ajax, Inter and Everton winger Andy Van Der Myede. Todd says that a trial was more suited to both parties due to Andy's injury problems. It will last 3 weeks. Todd also brought in Former PSV youngster Jonathan Reis. The 20 year old also joins for 3 weeks and Todd belives looks very promising. Both will need to shine in order to impress Todd.

Despite these though Todd did make some other signings. He brings in Possebon from Manchester United. The young central midfielder is said to be keen to impress on and show of his talents. Charlie Mulgrew of Aberdeen has also joined on loan for 6 months. Charlie has been brought in at left back and is said to be keen to make the deal permanent. He also commented that Blackpool talisman Charlie Adam helped him in making his decision. Adam recently signed For Blackpool after he too had a successful loan from Scottish side Rangers.

Pre-season results to come and also other transfers if made! Screenshots can be given if wanted!

Cheers.

Disappointment for Todd
After having high hopes of getting his 2 trialist signings Todd manged to gather neither. Van Der Myede instead chose to go to Southampton who offered him £10,750 a week, something that Todd sadly couldn't. Reis, the Brazilian was electric during Pre-Season. He fitted into Todd's 4-5-1 perfectly and netted 5 goals during the course of his 3 weeks. Disappointment followed again though as for a further 3 weeks Todd tried to get a work permit for him and failed. This let FC Midtyjlland to sign him.
Todd brings in new faces
Despite missing out on both Van Der Myede and Reis Todd made a huge signing for Blackpool. Former Bayern Munich AM Ali Karimi for £2million. This offered a huge statement to the rest of the Championship as he was the dearest player to come into the league, so far. Todd also brought in young Denis Alibec for £3million from Inter. At 19 years of age the potential of the lad was more Todd's focus. Both transfers though involved no money upfront and would be paid over a period of 48 months. In further news Blackpool also secured the loan signing of Nacer Barazite from Arsenal. He joins for 3 months like Possebon. Barazite is a very versitile young man who Todd felt would add something to his improving side.

Former Italy hero will play at Bloomfield
Fans and Players of Blackpool today praised Todd's 'bargain' signing as he announced the completed signing of former Italian superstar, Christian Vieri. The 36 year old signed a one year deal and is set to be keen to play regular football. Todd added that he hoped Vieri would aide in the growth of his new star Alibec.

Hoping to have a January update for tomorrow. Will post soon.

Good luck with this - I hope Charlie bangs in the goals!

Its proving abit of a challenge just now. Winning against great teams then losing stupid games. Gets frustrating haha! But i want to try and get them into te Premiership and then keep pushing! Maybe not in the first season though.

Good luck with this - I hope Charlie bangs in the goals!

He's been struggling for fitness and has had a few injuries but when he plays next to David Vaughan in the centre, Vaughan seems to play better with him rather than another CM, if that makes sense :S

"This is all a load of poppycot."
"I think Steve Cotteril must be from the next village up from me, 'cos I was my village idiot, and he looks like he could've been his."

Tough act to follow mate, good luck. (H) ;)

good luck with this mate nice work in the transfer window

Good luck, nice signings and I think you'll do well, will check in now and again. But I question the grammar of the title :P

Was going to hold off with an update of my games but decided against it haha! Wont give you pre-season results, just dive into the league and league cup ones!

Todd makes memorable start
After people counted them down and out before the match had even began Blackpool put on a fine display of counter attacking football to beat QPR at Loftus Road 3-1. An excellant brace from new man Karimi was the particular highlight.

The rest of my results so far

View attachment 68280
A relatively poor game in all honesty. Happy we got thewin but we should of been beating this kind of team more comfertably than what we did. I'd even go as far as saying we were lucky.
Huge win. David Vaughan diving header winning us it in the end. End to end game but we caught Cardiff with a counter from there corner for our goal.

Really dissappointed with this game. Al's strike in the first minute was a screamer from 30 yards that Bywater could only parry into his own goal. I thouht things would get better, only for the team to lose 2-1. Addison header from their corner was the turning point and they never looked like losing after that.

Didn't even look at any stage like we were going to score a goal. Watford outclassed us which resulted in such a dissappointing scoreline.

Was hoping for the lads to pick themselves up after the humiliation at Vicarage Road and try and beat West Brom but it wasnt to be. Defeated by the better team, again.

A good win and exactly what we needed. The lads were surely down about 2 defeats on the trot specially the manner beaten by Watford.

A game which on another day any team could have won in my opinion. Both teams played scarpaly and didnt really take any sort of control over the game.

Again, dissappointed. I thought once again that they would have been more motivated for the visit of the Magpies. Maybe it was my team talk, but, slumped to defeat. Best's goal was a screamer though.

Fans werent happy that we had a 2-0 lead and threw it away. To be honest, either was I. I started to daydream whilst in tatics before making a double change and in the end they just coasted past my players. No excuse really for a loss i know but could things have been differant if I had got Vaughan off and Adam off? Who knows.

Not much you can say. Embarresing sums this game up. Got it all wrong. Nice brace from Mackail-Smith though, took his goals very well.

More dissappointment. Was again hoping after a defeat we'll pick ourselves up, but, no, Bristol City in the end get there win.

Was chuffed with this. Exactly what we needed once again and a great away result. Palace are a good side at home i think so to walk away with a comfertable margain like that was extra delight to go with the win! Alibec first and only goal in 10 appearances, should i be worried?

Another win infront of our fans. Its a good 3 points and another 2 goal margain. But again what we needed in my opinion.

Was rather gutted if im honest. I was hoping for a better show considering we were at home. Not to be. Resigned to defeat we were in this match.

The League Table

Things are ok for now i guess. Expected to be relagated so at least we're avoding it so far. I'm hoping to push up the league though and i'm looking to sign Fran Merida from Arsenal in January.

Will be monthly updates from now on, possibly not set out like that, but opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Aww mate as soon as i clicked post i was gutted with myself. I have no idea how to change it :S

Good Luck, this is probably the hardest challenge you can find on Football manager, except from taking a poor league two team to the premiership in four seasons.

It still looks promising though, and maybe your form will pick up.

what skin are you using :O

it's a wicked one :)

Em, I'll need to look at it again mate totally blanked haha! Update later tonight for those who are interested!

---------- Post added at 09:44 PM ---------- Previous post was yesterday at 11:18 PM ----------

I now have a very large update but not sure what style to post it in, can someone please offer some ideas?

Ok, i got abit carried away and ended up finishing 2009/2010 season though i said monthly updates. I will now fill you in with news you will need to know.

Transfers in January (out also)

View attachment 69501
As you can see, i signed Fran Merida from Arsenal. Great signing! Franco also from West Ham, never really got going in 2010 coming up to the end of that season but soon in pre-season Franco took off, you'll see why.
Most notable probably Alibec and Vaughan out. Alibec a was rather dissappointed with and dumped him on the transfer list, to my surprise i recived this from Birmingham. The board sold Vaughan for me at a mere £2million. Key figure in our team next to Karimi and i was was rightly angered. Andreason prove an effective replacemnt.
Player of the season, and what a season he had. Playing AMR he produced this. He earned the role of Club Captain for the new season. He also managed to earn himself a place in the Blackpool's Favoured Personal.
How things ended up.
The related teams from the championship.
An epic summer of transfers without a penny spent. I'll let you make your decisions on the good and bad transfers.
How our pre-season panned out. It was ok and some good results.
Here are my results up to the 26th and resulting league position.

From now on my updates will be abit better than this. Please give your feedback!

End of August results
With only 2 games left in August for Todd and his Blackpool team Todd expected to pick up at the least 4 points. He was to play Hull (A) and Derby (H). Todd commented that both were hard games but both winable with the right mentality from his squad.

Hull vs Blackpool.

Both Hull and Blackpool fans were expecting a great game. Hull, recently relagated from the Premier league were chasing a return to the big time straight away. A win over Blackpool would be 3 vital points. Blackpool on the other hand had been given the media prediction 23rd. Relagation favourites went all out in the summer and brough in players like Aruna Dindane who netted 11 times last year in the premier league for Portsmouth, also relagated.

View attachment 69562

Blackpool come away from this game with a good point. Both teams create there chances but when it really mattered none were taken. Todd loses top goalscorer Guilermo Franco, who has 4 in the league, for 3-4 weeks.

Blackpool fans though supported there team through and through.
Blackpool vs Derby.

With Blackpool achivieng a good point away to Hull Todd now looked for his side to meet his expectations of 4 points from these games by achiving a win against Derby. His opponents were optomistic about there chances and some managerial mind-games towards Todd were ignored. He had no time to get involved and had to get his players focused.

View attachment 69564

Aruna Dindane steps up and gets the winner on the 5th minute. Great 1-2 between himself and Nacho Novo before blasting it past Bywater. Novo picks up MOM with an 8.1 rating, Dindane achieves an 8.0.

Dindane during his RC Lens days. Aruna was said to be delighted to score and the fans were thrilled with his involvement as well as Novo's performance. It is Novo's burning passion for football, as seen below, which has seen him become a huge favourite at Rangers, and now quickly becoming idolised at Bloomfield Road.

Will you be updating every month this season? nice signings mate your wage bill must be extremely high tho?

September Results
After a good end to August Todd looked to continue the form into September. With 5 games to be played there was an oppourtunity to pick up 15 points. With games against Scunthrope, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Coventry and Swansea this is seen as an achieveable thing.

Todd also signed Earnshaw from Premier league side Nottingham Forest for 3 months.

Scunthrope vs Blackpool

With a great August now in the past for Todd's side he was hoping to start September in a similar fashion. His side were away to a Scunthrope side who had their key man, Gary Hooper, missing. Todd quated in his pre-match Interview that this was great for his defence. His squad reacted well to this.

View attachment 69913

A delightful brace from in-form Novo gives Todd's Blackpool a 2-1 win. This gives his side the perfect start to September that he wanted. The fans were again happy with the performance, and also Novo's impact. Todd also was happy and asked Novo to kepp his form up.

Blackpool vs Coventry

Todd welcomed Coventry to the newly expanded Bloomfield Road. It now holds around 15,000. Optomistic after his result against Scunthrope Todd felt a win against Coventry was more than achiveveable. With Novo and Briand both fit both men were included in the squad. Fans had so far been delighted with there impact during games.

A dissappointing result for Blackpool. After cracking the woodwork 6 times Blackpool found it impossible to get past Kieren Westwood.

Middlesbrough vs Blackpool

After a poor draw against Coventry the Blackpool team wanted to go the Riverside and create a memorable victory. Todd was again upbeat about his team's chances saying 'I am confident aslong as we stick to our game-plan.'

View attachment 69919

Todd had to pick up the pieces as his side fell to an on form Middlesbrough side. After being confident before the game Todd was left sympathetic towards his team's effort during the game.

Blackpool vs Cardiff

Pre-match Todd viewed this as a tough game. A good Cardiff side coming to Bloomfield Road off the back of a defeat for Blackpool. This was viewed as most pundits as a good time to come to play Blackpool who had been doing very well of late.

View attachment 69918

A brace from Briand and a goal from Novo and Franco complete a rout for Blackpool against Cardiff. An eagerly anticipated game for Blackpool fans was met with a great respose to the Middlesbrough game as they walked over a Glen Roader Cardiff side. Roader himself admittied that this was a very good Blackpool side and gave most of his praise towards Briand, who he commented 'Ran the show.'

Franco and Briand both impressed against Cardiff. Briand here during his Rennais days were he left for Blackpool on a Free in the summer of 2010.

Swansea vs Blackpool

After a great victory against Cardiff Todd looked to take more points from a Welsh side. After watching his side demolish Cardiff he remained very up-beat and quoated 'I am very confident that we will win against Swansea.'

View attachment 69914

A goal from Briand and from Novo again dazzle the fans. It leaves Blackpool in a great position of 3rd after a media expectation of 23rd. This also delights the fans and Todd is slowly becoming a favourite once more.
In general a great month for Todd's side. Promotion at this early stage looks well on course and agter good wins against Wigan away in August and Cardiff at home they are showing they are a side to be reckoned with.

Other News
In other news Blackpool have announced that they have cancelled there kit sponsership with Carbrini. They have signed a new contract with both Adidas and BWIN and are hoping to launch there new kits as soon as they can. It is rumoured that it is FM Base member Bugu who has designed and created the kits for Blackpool. Bugu has made a kit for Todd's Velez Sarsfield team in the past and is very highly rated by many in regards to his Kit Designs.
