FOOTBALL FOCUS: THE FALL OF BLACKPOOL FC
In 2010 Blackpool FC where mixing it with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. Just 4 years on, The Tangerines find themselves in disarray, predicted to finish a lowly 23rd in the Championship this season, with a wage budget of just 90k which when coupled with a lowly transfer budget of just 300k and a team of unproven and ageing talent you begin to think, perhaps 23rd is slightly generous? Blackpool fans certainly seem to think so anyway.

Disgrace: the pitch has been compared to farmland.
Derek Risken a lifelong Blackpool fan said “It’s disgraceful, the chairman is ruining this club, he’s stripped us of all money, the final straw was when he sanctioned the signing of Nile Ranger, he’s a liability and it’s laughable really. And have you see the state of that pitch? More use to a farmer than a footballer! Actually that’s not a bad idea; we may as wellsign a few farmers, better than the no hopers we’ve got down here at the moment”.

Riga: gone over broken promises.
The club are currently without a manager after Jose Riga walked out this week over broken promises, just another subplot to add to the deep rotted turmoil at Blackpool, yet club chairman Karl Oyston remains in positive spirits “There is no need to panic. We have weeks to go until the season starts and I’ve got interviews lined up with plenty of suitable candidates, it’s only a matter of time before we finalise something”.

Ranger: getting himself into trouble already?
But with the club's first pre-season friendly just a matter of days away, fans and players alike are understandably frustrated and uncertain what the future holds, well everyone with the exception of notorious bad man Nile Ranger who had this to say “I just want to get going, I’m trying to knuckle down here and turn my career around, if we don’t get a manager soon I may have to apply. But nah, we should be alright, got a good bunch of lads here and it’s a good laugh in training at the moment, we just play a bit of heads and volleys really, it’s decent and I get paid for it”.

Oyston: decision time.
The pure unbalance of this club is there for all to see, conflicting characters and opinions need to be resolved and that’s what makes this latest appointment so important, Karl Oyston, quite simply, needs toget it right. We will bring you any updates from Bloomfield Road as we receive them, as Blackpool look to appoint a new manager to restore the pride and dignity to this once proud club.
