Board Expectations & Transfer budget

Hi Folks,

I am very new to FM manager so apologies in advance if this is a stupid question. I have just completed my first season with Liverpool, winning the league & Euro cup along the way. As a result I was expecting to have a decent amount to spend on transfers come the new season however I am now in July with other teams happily buying players but I still only have 1.7million that I had left over from the previous season. I thought I would get a news update with the boards expectations and a sum of money I would have available to spend - neither occurred. Has anyone else had this or am I missing something obvious? Please Help!!!!

You get it around the 9th or 10th of July, slightly unfair as I have missed out on plenty of players as other teams got there first.

Not sure of the exact date, its late June/early July, but this may be the problem. I had assumed as other teams were buying players I should be able to do the same. Possibly just my lack of patience then!?

Maybe they are spending their last season's budget because they hadn't spent it entirely before?

I found that if you want a certain player before you have been given your transfer budget, they might give you some early to get the player in question if you request it from them.

You should have got it already. In England its the 25th of June for new budgets and youth.
