Board Ultimatums??

what are the chances of winning when giving your board an ultimatum? do you have to have won trophies? or been at club for a long time? i'm yeovil and need extra wage to tie up 2 transfers of two high quality (for league 1) players but my board wont let me offer any more than 1,700 a week? i'm only in my second season with them and led them to play off semi's first season, well above the consolidation they were looking for. any advice?
 
depends on your reputation if you just started at a big club you ll get sacked. but say if you ve won like 9 trophies 4 united over 3 years they may give you more funds or whatever you ve issued Ultimatum for
 
ok cheers m8, prob best to avoid it for now. just irritating, really think the two players could push me into championship!

Two options are either making a board request for more wage monies or restructuring your transfer pot so you have more wage money to play with. This might be more likely to succeed than ultimatums.

I've never had one actually work - once as MUFC manager I just got a note apologising and saying they would be sorry to see me go. With a low Rep though you might be clearing your desk.
 
i have moved money from my transfer pot and tweaked everythin possible, sold fairly good players in order to free up funds but it just wont change from 1,700. my wage budget is 19k a week and my wage total is 15k. thanks for posting a reply mate. love fm 07 and new game inside out, played fm 08 on/off, im hooked on 09 but i feel like a rookie lol.
 
Ultimatums only work if the club really love you, on FM06 (i think) after about 20 seasons i got Chimney Corner into the semi's of the Champions League (got beat by PSV) i really needed more money because i wanted to compete in europe but my stadium was on 5,000. gave them an ultimatum and they expanded it. there have been so many time that ive tried in the past and got sacked, i dont bother with it anymore, unless it really is me or them.
 
on 08 they never worked for me but a few fm's back they used to work about 1 in every 3 attempts. Not sure about 09 but it isnt worth it tbh
 
no i dont really agree with you gallatron i am in city 4th season and when i issue an ultimatium i get sacked and i won 2 champions league trophies and 3 prem tittles so i doesn't really work
