'Shock' 'Horror' 'Utter Disgrace' were just some of the headlines slapped across the back of newspapers in Britain today. The most memorable was the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette who's journalist decided to dump Boro in favour of local rivals Newcastle United. The news was that Chris Hughton was to become the new manager of Middlesbrough Football Club after Strachan declared he had fallen out with Chairman Steve Gibson after Boro's recent 2-0 defeat to rivals Newcastle. Hughton has said that he is delighted to take the job despite heavy criticism from Newcastle United fans and Middlesbrough fans alike, all across the country. Gibson has wished Hughton the best of luck in the job and has told fans to stick by Hughton saying; "Can't be worse than Southgate." Who knows what is in store for Middlesbrough? Only time will tell...

A geordie in charge of Boro? I suppose Jack Charlton done a decent job.

5 wins out of 7; Hughton enjoys good start.
Some critics of Middlesbrough's new manager, Chris Hughton, may have been stumped as, so far, he has led them to an impressive 5 wins in their 7 pre-season games. Hughton's most memorable win was a 4-0 victory over Millwall and players like Gary O'Neil and Jeremie Aliadiere have particularly impressed with 6 and 4 goals respectively. Things look bright for Hughton...

Hughton Unbeaten as Boro March On!
Chris Hughton's Middlesbrough have stayed unbeaten in August, however, they have drawn 3 out of 6. Something they will have to improve on.

High Points:
  • 6th in the league.
  • Through to the Third Round of the Carling Cup.
  • Won 3 games and dominated most games.
  • Signed Emiliano Insua on loan from Liverpool.

Low Points:
  • Conceded in the 94th minute against Doncaster
  • Drew to Sheffield United, Doncaster and Bristol City

Manager's Thoughts:
Overall a decent month. We are in a promotion spot and are unbeaten. However, we need to stop drawing!

Hughton Gets Boro Firing!
Another good month with Boro unbeaten in the Championship. They are 4th and just 3 points behind leaders Reading. One win can take them to the top!

High Points:
  • Still unbeaten in the Championship.
  • Lita, Aliadiere, Johnson, O'Neil, Walker, Insua and Brad Jones are all on good form.
  • Only 3 points behind leaders Reading.
  • Beat West Brom!

Low Points:
  • Being 3-0 up against Sheffield Wednesday and drawing 3-3.
  • Losing 3-1 to Fulham in the Carling Cup.

Manager's Thoughts:
Overall, a good month again with more wins and less draws. However, losing to Fulham was harsh and we did not deserve to lose like that. Let's hope for another month like that!

Middlesbrough Push for Automatic Promotion Place!
A good end to the month has led Middlesbrough fans to believe that they will be playing Premiership football next year. Despite losing twice, they took full advantage of their game in hand and won plenty of games. Top performers like Leroy Lita have been banging in the goals this month. Long may it continue!

High Points:
  • 3rd in the table.
  • Lita can't stop scoring!
  • Adam Johnson in top form.
  • O'Neill scoring again!
  • 2 points off 2nd.

Low Points:
  • Lost twice this month.
  • Insua lacking form.
  • 8 points off 1st.

Quarterly Year Round Up:

Best Player: Adam Johnson- 4 goals and 3 assists- A great influence on the side and we wouldn't be where we are without him!
Biggest Improver: Josh Walker- 3 amazing goals and an assist- Really improved in form.
Biggest Flop: Mohammed Shawky- Dreadful, always attempting long shots and always giving the ball away. Big Improvement needed!

Manager's Thoughts:
Overall, a good month. It is good to see Johnson and Lita scoring. I was disappointed with the 2 losses but they had to come some time. Let's hope we keep it up next month.

Cheers Max. Thanks for being supportive as usual. I hope to get a big update done by this evening! :D Thanks to everyone who is following. I really appreciate it!
