I Downloaded Koflok's Goal's Galore tactic and Raikan007's Training Scheudle with a English level 7&8 level database. Currently playing a level 7 english club a few weeks into the season and I find it hard to choose what players are better because there are so many different stats and factors in the game. I also am very confused as to why I can only tell my guys to use the part time schedules (General Goalkeeping and conditioning) I can't use any of Raikan007's. Also with trainers, I currently have 2. I wanted to get new ones but again, they have so many different stats. I have no clue what to do, really. Are there any Guides for New players because I find it insanely hard to get into the game. Maybe a let's play of someone new? because I've tried finding some but it's from experienced players and I have no clue what they are talking about.

the reason you can only use teh part time schedules and not the ones you've downloaded is because your players are on either part time, amateur or non contract terms not full contracts so you can't use a full time training schedule on them. you would need to wait until your club allows you to sign the players to professional contracts before you can use your downloaded ones. in teh mean time you should look for a part time schedule to use.

also have you tried looking at this thread yet? http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...wanted-long-successful-career-club-reign.html

it's got a few helpful tips in there and lists the attributes for each type of staff that are most important.

also this thread lists the key attributes for each type of player and their roles, http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...t-stats-per-position-thread-updated-fm12.html

this is really helpful because if you go to your tactic screen then you should be able to see the roles you have currently got set in your tactic and then you can compare all players that play in each position and see what values they have for each of the attributes that are listed as being important for that role. once you've done that for you current squad you can look at searching for players that have better values for each role that you could sign.

can you train players from one position into another? Say someone is listed as a D(c) into a AM(l) and use him as a winger? Does the game recognize what stats a player have and automatically assign him their position?

Yes, if you are completely new to the game, it might be a bit confusing in the beginning. But give it time, and you'll probably be completely hooked, like the rest of us ;)

Your training schedule issue: I guess your club is semi-professional. So if your players aren't full-time footballers, they can't use full-time training schedules (they also need time to be carpenters, plumbers and busdrivers, lol)
Search the Tactics & Training section of this forum for part-time schedules.

When it comes to decide which players are better, and what role/position suits them best, your coaches can help you. Go to Player Name > Reports. If you have several coaches, you can select who to listen to in the drop-down menu (top, left). At this stage, you should probably listen to the coach with the best 'judge ability' stats.
These reports tell you what position and role suits your player best. And, even more helpful, they will present a list of players that can play the same position, ranked by abilities.
Note: reports are just a coach's or a scout's opinion. The better the reporter is at judging abilities (or potential, for scouting reports), the more accurate the report will be.

Getting good staff (coaches) is often quite hard in lower leagues. The physical side is the most important. Especially part-time players and staff do not have time for much specialised training.
If you are allowed to have two coaches: One should be good at the physical aspect, one on the technical. One should have good 'judging ability' stats (for the reports on own players) and one should have good 'motivation' skills (take his advice on team talks etc.). They should both be decent at 'dicipline' and 'determination'.
If your assistant manager (if you have one at a semi-professional club?) also have good tactical knowledge, it's a bonus. You can then listen to his advice during matches, and adjust tactics accordingly.

I hope this helps you in the first steps, but you still have a long way to go... ;)

As I'm sure you will bump into lots of questions, you are welcome to send me a PM or something. I'm no oracle, but I love this game, and am happy to help as best I can.

Yes, you can train a player into a new position (Player Name > Training > New position: dropdown menu). But how good a player will become in that position depends on his predetermined potential, versatility and many other factors.
In general, younger players are easier to train into new positions.

As for training a DC into a winger... I'm sceptical... The two roles are so different, and there's probably a reason he was a DC in the first place. A winger should have speed, dribling skills etc., wich the average DC doesn't have.

They take account of every aspect of the player, including his stats. But the reliability of the reports will depend on how good the scout is, so if he has a judging ability of 10-12, you shouldn't trust his judgement too much. But the stats required for a specific position are pretty obvious, so I don't think it's difficult to judge that yourself. A Winger generally needs pace, acceleration, dribbling, off the ball, crossing and passing. Technique is very useful too, mental stats would be nice too. Finishing if you play with inside forwards. So most of the time a central defender isn't good for the wing position, as they're generally not quick enough, and not good enough at passing, crossing, dribbling etc. But playing a AMC as winger should work most of the time.

I've been relying on my coaches to assign the players position and they seem to switch a few players around every match? Well, their judging ability is 5/5 but I can't get better coaches because my board wont increase my payroll.

hired an 11/11 Judging coach and even he is benching my good player over a bad one. does it also calculate condition?

you mean you are asking your coach to select the team for you?

learn the players yourself mate :) get to know them, look in the training tab to see what their best role is: Attacking mid - support etc and play them in that role on your tactics, I would rather use a default tactic, i.e: make your own and get to learn the game, download tactics are quite specific in player instructions and wont suit all the players you have at your disposal, so play to your team's strengths, not trying to use a tactic that does not fit the players you have :)

you mean the condition of which your players are in? would the coach select the better player for striker on 78% or will he pick your 2nd best striker on 98%?

He would pick the best/fittest player!

I hope that answers your questions :)
