So, I finally got a FM game (14) for myself, and decided to see what all the fuss was about.

SO far, it is incredible. So technical, so many options. I am loving it.

I have decided to play as Wrexham, and took over the club as normal in the Skrill Premier league.

I had about ?5k wages per week to spend, and a transfer budget of ?80,000.

I will post under here with tactics, form, results, and general information after I read some other threads and see what the rest of you do!

There are some decent players when you take over...

Brett Ormerod - a Bit old at 36, with big wages, value of ?15k, immediate offer came in from Kidderminster of ?4,100, I got them to deal with me at ?6,000 (I really wanted the extra wages) and off he went!

Andy Bishop - Striker, valued at 44k
Kevin Thornton - AM, Valued at ?120k, though I have no idea why.
Adrian Cieslewicz - M, AM (R), valued at 30k, but he started in the AM R position for me and is so FAST IT IS INSANE. Consider him promoted to regular first team.

After some friendlies... The tactics we have decided are like this...

Fluidity - Fluid (I like the way the players drift when we have the ball)
Mentality - Counter (Swift passing from my midfield is killing the opposition)
Formation - 4-3-3, but edited hugely. Flat Back 4, 2 wing backs, a ball winning defender and a central defender. Defensive Midfielder, 2 central mids (ball winning and box to box). 2 wide wingers/inside forwards, and a deep threat striker.

In - Marvin McCoy (20k). Very good Right Back, very pacey, and I need that as I am overlapping and running it up the wings.
In - Anthony Straker (17k). Same as McCoy, but on the Left side.
In - Al Bangura (20k). Defensive Midfielder. Decided I needed a very good holding/tacking DM for this lineup, in the form of a Michael CArrick. He was cheap and fits the bill so far.
In - Ryan Lloyd (240k). AM Left. Only 19, I scouted him and they told me to sign him whatever the price. He is valued at 180k, but I paid over the odds after adjusting the budget slightly. Currently the best player in the team, with fine finishing ability, and can run past anyone. Gets a bit tired after 70mins, but the original player in that position can come on then and finish it off.
In - Matt Godden - Striker. Tried to sign him but the team wanted 5x his price. Got him on loan instead till end of season. My top scorer currently, playing in rotation with Andy Bishop. Loves being set free off the last defender, and seems to be a great fit for my tactics.

This is my current lineup. Notice the injuries from the last game!!!

In the first 3 friendlies I was tinkering with player positions after reading up on them here. Then I signed Lloyd, discovered pace on the wings, and the rest seems to be falling in to place.

In the last game it did take Ogleby (my 21 year old reserve squad striker) to come off the bench and nab a late winner though!

I drew my first game. Such a shame. We were 1-0 up after 22 seconds, with a fine piece of passing play from Cieslewicz to Godden, however after that a player got sent off and we couldnt hold out. 1-1 final score. We dominated possession somehow.

FA Cup draw - Wrexham vs Macclesfield. Should be tough as there were some really low sides in it.

What...a...TEAM!!!

Won 1-0 and 2-0 in FA Cup prelims, then in the 2nd Round we get a tough draw away at Bristol City. Two early goals and we hold on nicely for a 2-0 shocker!

We were 9-1 prematch, wish Id have been able to bet some of our transfer kitty on it!

FA Cup update - We got Millwall at home. I was hoping for a dream tie away at the big clubs, as I assume that will seriously boost the bank balance. However the fans seem happy.

Lost our first league game 3-2 though vs Tamworth. 15 points clear. Will post some screenshots tomorrow.

Im worried our team will get quite gelled and when new players come in after the inevitable promotion things might get unstuck. Time will tell.

Good read so far eejit, maybe just a few more screen shots :-) never done a story myself but have read a few on here and they are plastered with them....Keep up the great work though and bring on the promotion

Why does it say you won 6 out of 12 in the table but you have 36 points, and. no losses or draws?
Other than that, a good story

The Story is a little bit lame I get that.

Ill get some more screenshots going on, ill take the final version of last season (which was really easy so I just ploughed through it).

And it says 6 wins for my home form, it then goes on to say 6 wins for away form,
