Introduction

Fu?ball-Club St. Pauli von 1910 e.V. are a football club based in Hamburg, Germany. Their stadium, the Millerntor-Stadion, is situated close to the Reeperbahn, the red light district of Hamburg. The fans and club used their distinct location to promote an alternative football culture built around left-leaning politic, social activism and equality. This along with the fact the St. Pauli area has always be synonymous with piracy has give this little club from the north of Germany and very special identity.

St. Pauli main rivals are their next door neighbours Hamburger SV. HSV are the more successful of the pair but hopefully that is about to change. St. Pauli have a strong affinity with Celtic and HSV have a friendship with Rangers, which is quite interesting.

Since this club is steeped with socialist undertones, I've decided to take up the persona of the most famous left-wing leader of the 20th century, Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, more commonly known as Che Guevara or simply Che.

The Argentine was a medical student at the University of Buenos Aires until he undertook a motorcycle journey across South America. During this journey he came to the realisation that he could not help the South American people by just being a doctor so he decided to become a 'freedom fighter' to oppose the United States' perpetual sodomy of Latin America with it's evil capitalistic ways.

Pre-Season 2013

Transfers:

View attachment 397172

Pretty uneventful transfer window, resources are pretty tight so I ended up getting two players on Bosmans. Penida will provide some depth and experience in the defensive midfield area and Wilhelmsson is a solid back up to Bartels

Results:

View attachment 397171

We had a decent preseason results wise, winning against Rapid Wien was a highlight but I don't know how I managed only a draw against my second team.

2013/14 Season Preview

Media Prediction:

View attachment 397170

We're predicted so low in the league because St. Pauli finished 10th last season but I feel have a good chance of winning promotion this season which will be my goal.

Key Players:

Fins Bartels:

View attachment 397169

Bartels is my best offensive player, his physical attributes make him a handful for any left back in this league. He will leave a massive hole to fill next season because he decided he wanted to be a *** and join Weder Bremen on a Bosman.

Fabian Boll:

View attachment 397168

The ageing defensive midfielder has been at St. Pauli for 11 years and is still the midfield lynchpin. His vast experience is going to have to come to the fore if we stand any chance of being promoted.

Promising Youngsters:

Tom Trybull

View attachment 397167

Signed from Weder Bremen, the young German playmaker seems to have a bright future ahead of him, hopefully he can use this season in the second division to develop as much as he can.

Sebastian Maier:

View attachment 397166

A product of the 1860 youth academy, the attacking midfielder has a lot of potential but hopefully with tutoring I can get his determination up so he can develop faster.

July 2013

Fixtures:

View attachment 397165

Tough start to the season, Dresden away is always difficult and K?ln have an incredibly strong team.

Results:

Dresden 2-2 St. Pauli

View attachment 397152

Average performance but I'll take a draw, their strikers are abnormally good on this game.

St. Pauli 2-0 K?ln

View attachment 397151

Terrific performance, new signings Pineda and Wilhelmsson have hit the ground running.

August 2013

Fixtures:

View attachment 550437

Very busy month, the highlight being the cup match against Bielefeld and Kaiserslautern at home which should be tricky.

Results:

Bielefeld 0-1 St. Pauli

View attachment 397100

Bielefeld picked our defence apart time and time again, we robbed them of the win with a swift counter. We were very lucky to get a result.

Paderborn 2-2 St. Pauli

View attachment 397098

We went 2-0 up early and everything was going swimmingly until Boll got sent off. With only 10 men it was only a matter of time until they equalised.

St. Pauli 2-1 Union Berlin

View attachment 397097

Very open ended game. Trybull shone in this game, pulling the strings and setting up second half substitute Butchmann for the goal.

Cottbus 0-2 St. Pauli

View attachment 397096

Solid display. Schachten the unlikely penalty taker scored but it reminded me to take the time to set a penalty taker XD

St. Pauli 1-0 Kaiserslautern

View attachment 397095

I was expecting a much better performance, Kaiserslautern were languishing in 17th place when we played them. Trybull also hurt himself and he'll be out for 6-7 weeks, ****.

Looking good. Will he following.

Transfer Window Round-up:

View attachment 551041

The biggest move of the window was Baba Rahman going to Benfica for a staggering ?8.5 million. Otherwise it was a very quiet window with only 3 players coming into the 2. Bundesliga that required transfer fees.

Fixtures:

View attachment 551044

This should be a straight forward month but nothing ever is, hopefully I can get on a good run of form before I face Weder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal.

Results:

Karlsruhe 0-2 St. Pauli

View attachment 396836

Solid performance, Bartels came to the fore with an assist and a goal. Third clean sheet in a row too.

St. Pauli 2-2 Bielefeld

View attachment 396835

Dominated the game but couldn't come up with the winning goal. My strikers are absolutely hopeless when it comes to scoring goals.

Aalen 1-4 St. Pauli

View attachment 396834

Bartels again the star of the show, finishing the game with a brace and he probably would have gotten a hat-trick too if I didn't sub him off early so he could be fresh for the Weder Bremen tie. I don't know what I'm going to do without him.

St. Pauli 1-4 Weder Bremen

View attachment 396833

Appalling. I couldn't have asked for a better start with Weder Bremen going down to ten men but we actually started playing worse when they did. There was such a gulf in class between the two sides, if I do get promoted I need to do some severe strengthening if I stand a chance of staying in the Bundesliga.

St. Pauli 2-1 Sandhausen

View attachment 396832

Our first half display was good but we really went off the boil in the second half, three points are three points in the end of the day.

October 2013

Fixtures:

View attachment 396821

Only three matches to be played this month due to the international break, all of which are difficult, with away games at high flying Bochum and FSV Frankfurt and a home game against fellow promotion contenders Dusseldorf.

Results:

Bochum 0-1 St. Pauli

View attachment 396816

Got the goal early in the game off of a corner then sat back and withstood wave after wave of Bochum attack.

FSV Frankfurt 3-1 St. Pauli

View attachment 396815

We were outclassed, Frankfurt picked us apart with their swift passing. Despite scoring a goal, Verhoek missed a boat load of chances.

St. Pauli 1-1 Dusseldorf

It was a top-of-the-table clash between the 1st and 2nd team in the 2. Bundesliga and Gonther got on the score sheet twice, once at the wrong end :@

Player of the Month:
E6XGFV8.png

Marc Rzatkowski

Two MoM performances, he has been exceptional this month creating many chances for the team. Unfortunately Verhoek couldn't hit a cow's **** with a banjo so many of those chances were squandered.

How are you guys liking the format for the updates, do you guys think I should add anything?

November 2013

Fixtures:

View attachment 396779

We pick up in November where we left off in October with another home game against another promotion contender.

Results:

St. Pauli 1-0 1860 Munchen

View attachment 396778

It was a very evenly matched game until Gonther got sent off, even then 1860 couldn't finish their chances even though they have the leagues top scorer Benjamin Lauth.

St. Pauli 0-1 Aue

View attachment 396774

Their goalkeeper had an amazing game and we conceded the softest goal I have seen this season, Rzatkowski strained his groin too so he'll be out for 3-4 week. Unbelievable.

Ingolstadt 1-2 St. Pauli

View attachment 396773

We responded well to going a goal down, it's good to see Butchmann contributing to the cause because I got a lot of offers for him to go out on loan but I decided against it.

St. Pauli 1-1 Furth

View attachment 396772

Even though Furth have been under-performing recently they put up a very good fight and a draw seemed like it was the fair result. Nehrig bits the hand that used to feed him by scoring our only goal. Nothe got injured in his game and he'll be out for 2 months with knee ligament damage, I doubt he will be missed because he only has a paltry goal tally of 1 goal this season.

Player of the Month:
lLIyWMP.png

Marcel Halstenberg
The left back has been the epitome of consistency this month, the crowning moment being the MoM winning performance against Furth to keep Stieber quiet.

December 2013 and Mid-Season Review:

Fixtures:

View attachment 396672

Only two games to be played this month with the trip to the RheinEnergieStadion being the tougher one of the pair.

Results:

St. Pauli 1-1 Dresden

View attachment 396671

We were the better side but couldn't turn our dominance into a win.

Koln 2-1 St. Pauli

View attachment 396670

Snatched an early goal but Koln molested us the whole game, it was only a matter of time before they equalised. Conceding a goal in the very last kick of the game to condemn us to a defeat was bitterly disappointing. This loss sees us out of the promotion spots for the first time this season.

Player of the Month:

S9KaWm3.png

Philipp Tschauner

Tschauner did very well against Koln to keep us in the game for so long, he really pushes above his weight in the sense his performances are amazing given his average attributes.

League Table:

View attachment 396668

As you can see we're 4th in the table because FSV Frankfurt's superior number of goals scored, not even goal difference. It is that close at the top of the table. I need to get St. Pauli to start playing some decent football and get back to winning ways. Furthermore, none of my players are on any of the charts which is worrying.

Player Stats:

View attachment 396648

No-ones been playing consistently well for me to be honest, No-one has more than double figures for goals or assist and only 2 players have a rating of 7 or higher. Hopefully that can change in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile in the Bundesliga:

Seems legit.
