A politics thread from me? AMG.

Income tax for the rich should have been cut. The only argument against it being cut is it being 'unfair'. It's irrelevant if it's fair or not, what is relevant is how it affects the economy, which is positively.

The 'Granny tax' is a myth. State pension is rising by £275, most will be better off even with the allowance freeze. Poorly handled to let it get spun like it is being.

Corporation tax cut is good.

A strong budget overall. What does everyone else think?

All I understood from it was cigarettes +40p (roughly), blagh. Quitting time nearing ever closer

I didn't think the budget cut quite enough. I'd like to see bigger cuts in public spending, specifically overseas, politicians' allowances, foreign aid, military etc. Furthermore, I think Britain could've benefited from further alcohol tax increases.

What's this I hear about a pasty tax?
