In 2010 former international player Dylan Rodriguez, forced to retire due to Injury, took the reins at Burnley, to great expectations. These became reality.
Thanks to Loanee Federico Macheda, Burnley were promoted to the premier league.
In the second season, many tipped Burnley to go down with ease. But, thanks to Signings such as Alesandro Matri for £9m and Freddie Ljungberg on a free, and inspirational loan signings such as Kieran Gibbs and Yannis Tafer, the dream continued. Burnley finished 8th, and made it to the semi finals of the league cup.
But, at the start of the season, Dylan received an offer from Real Madrid to become their Manager. How could he turn it down?
Issuing a press statement, the fans were devestated that they were losing their club legend. But it didn't work out that way...
...because Real chose Harry Redknapp. Dylan was left with a club where the fans hated him for even considering departure, and even signings such as Manchester United's Fabio, a new midfield quartet of Italian Maestro's AND Federico Macheda on his second loan spell at the club and premier league legend Michael Owen on a free transfer didn't do much to hide the fan's disgust.

Burnley face Liverpool in the first game. It will be tough regardless, but will the fans, and more importantly, the players, be backing the manager?

MEDIA: PRESS CONFERENCE AT ANFIELD

"Not the Start You'd Hoped for, I guess, Dylan?"
"Well, it was a tough game. I opted for a defensive 4-2-3-1 and hoped for the best, but we were unable to break them down. I was one of the biggest callers for Hodgson's head in the 10/11 season, but he's turned them from relegation battlers to title contenders. Though, I must admit, how could you make him manager of the Year last year, ahead of me? I turned a promoted team into a top 8 side without the need for a Tycoon and £100m of signings, thank you very much."
"We have better fixtures coming up, and hopefully we can achieve our aim of finishing in the top half. Maybe the Doncaster Game in the Carling Cup is just what these players need. I hope so, because I'm starting to think turning down Madrid was a bad idea."
"About that. Many Pundits were baffled at your decision to turn down Madrid, and some have even said Harry Redknapp was CHOSEN ahead of you, rather then you turning it down. What do you have to say about these allegations?"
"Pundits can say what they want. They don't know how it feels to be a real football manager, and that's why they sit around watching games in a warm studio and call themselves 'experts'. Pah. They wouldn't last a second out here. Look at Alan Shearer. Became a pundit when he retired, but when Newcastle came knocking in 2009, he did a great job keeping them up! No. They can say what they like, but until they have experienced the pressure themselves, they do not have a valid opinion.
"That's nice Dylan, but you didn't really answer the question there"
"Listen, I'm the manager of Burnley. To not be managing Madrid right now must show some pretty good love for this club, right? I'm going to turn this team into top four contenders, and there's nothing that will stop me, except my rather small salary.
*The Press Conference has now Ended"

I need a Right Midfielder, or I'm not going to be able to do much. Maybe I should adjust my Wage Budget to give me more room in the Transfer Budget.
