Blackburn Hire Italian Manager Squidward Tortelini as their new manager
Blackburn have today announced that the ex-Genoa manager has been appointed. The move has been widely praised by Blackburn fans as they believe Tortelini was the right choice of manager. It is thought that the Italian is on a contract of around £10,000 a week. Tortelini has stated that he is delighted to be hired by the club, and is looking to take the club to new heights. Tortelini also said in a press conference that he looking forward to playing in England. It is thought that Tortelini will only get a small transfer budget from the Blackburn board due to their financial Situation

Manager Diary

Its my first day as Blackburn manager and things have gone well so far. I have a meeting with John Williams and other board members, and I am looking forward to working with them. I also meet all the players today, and I was greeted very warmly by them. I am looking to keep Ryan Nelsen as captain as I have full confidence in his ability as captain.

Unfortunately, Ive only been handed a transfer budget of around £500k by the board, So it is unlikely that you will see many big transfer moves by the club this season. I will bring people in mainly on a free transfer. I do already have some players in mind, such as Emerson, Sergey Krivets and Ezequiel Carboni. I have also been informed that Morton Gamst Pederson is wanting to leave the club. I would like to keep him as a Blackburn player, but it all depends on what, if any, offer we get for him. As of now, we havent received any offeres at all

good luck m8.. you should sell some dead wood to raise the budget and by one good player .

Our pre-season matches are now over and we are awaiting the start of new new Premiership season. We had a successful pre-season, winning 5 of your matches, and drawing one. We have a very tough start to the new season, with an away game against Chelsea. I will be looking for all my player to step up and show our fans what we can do. The club have also been in negotiations with Boca over a deal regarding Juan Roman Riquelme. I am very keem on signing Juan, but we are currently struggling to reach an agreement with the club. I am very much hoping that a deal will be completed before our first game against Chelsea.

Transfer Gossip
West Ham and Bari are just 2 clubs of many that are interested in taking Blackburn Attacking Midfielder Keith Andrews on loan.

Blackpool are monitoring Blackburn winger Aaron Doran and are looking for a loan deal to secure the young player.

Athletico Madrid have taken some interest in Blackburn centre back Christopher Samba. It is unlikely though that the Blackburn boss would want to accept any offers for Samba.

Blackburn are on the verge of signing Anderlecht goalkeeper Michael Cordier for a deal around £200k

Blackburn are interested in signing Peterborough's Scottish midfielder George Boyd

Not the best of starts at my Blackburn career. We are stuffed four nil by Chelsea today. I didn't expect a win from my players today, so I have no criticism of them. We did manage to sign Riquelme in time for todays game, and I brought him on as a sub at half time. He had an average game, and hopefully it will be something he will build on. Our next match is a home game against Hull City. I will defiantly expect a win from the lads next week, and hopefully they will live up to my expectations.

As you can see Chelsea enjoyed dominance over us, and we didn't even get a single shot on target. This is something that we will obviously have to improve upon if we want to secure a solid position in the league this season

Juan Roman Riquelme moves to Blackburn for a fee of around £8.5 Million. Manager Tortelini has faith that the player will be able to repay the large fee that the club paid for him in his performances. The Argentine player said that he is looking forward to working alongside Tortelini, and is ready for the challenge of English football

I recorded my first Premiership win today with a solid 3-1 victory over Hull City. Gamst Pederson got us off the mark with a well placed shot after 17 minutes. Hull then equalised just before half time. Kalinic then went on to score to good goals to give us and easy 3-1 win. Our next game is against Stoke, another game that we are looking to win
