So ive been away from fm for quite a while and ive got bored off my previous save (it was probably too ambitious, but hey ho) .
but like the viruses ive just been suffering from fm has recaptured my interest with a vengeance.

i watched the juve - atalanta match at the weekend, and the commentator saying its a real challenge for atalanta to compete on three fronts with a limited squad outside their first team.
This isnt a surprise as they have one of the lowest wage bills in serie a so im up for the challenge

Welcome to Atalanta B.C

Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio, commonly referred to as Atalanta, is an Italian football club based in Bergamo, Lombardy. It plays in Serie A, having gained promotion from Serie B in 2010–11. They are nicknamed the Nerazzurri and the Orobici

Founded in 1907 by some Swiss students in the gym of the liceo classico, Atalanta play in blue-and-black vertically striped shirts, black shorts and black socks. The club stadium is the 21,300 seat Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
In Italy, Atalanta is sometimes called Regina delle provinciali (queen of the provincial clubs) to mark the fact that the club is by far the most consistent among Italian clubs not based in a regional capital, having played 58 times in Serie A, 28 times in Serie B and only once in Serie C.
The club won the Coppa Italia in 1963 and reached the Cup Winners' Cup semi-final in 1988, when it was still competing in Serie B. This is still the best ever performance by a non-first division club in a major UEFA competition (together with Cardiff City). Atalanta also participated in four seasons of the UEFA Europa League (previously known as UEFA Cup), reaching the quarter-finals in the 1990–91 season.
The club qualified for the 2019–20 UEFA Champions League, reaching the competition for the first time in their history, as they finished 3rd in the 2018–19 Serie A season. This represented the highest finish in the league in the club's history.

so the starting transfer window isnt great im losing my two best midfielders and im only recieving a bk goalkeeper in return in addition my transfer budget is stuck at £12 million which gives me little option but find the best loan players i can and maybe one big signing in midfield.

i know atalanta and gasperini are famous for playing a three man formation with a high tempo and aggressive press, and playing on the front foot, i will be doing the same but playing with a 4231, dont get me wrong my second formation will be closer to real life atalanta, but i think a 4231 is the best formation for the players i have at my disposal, i have only two quality mids, three meh mids (ill be looking at finding a quality loan option), Papu a great left winger in his prime, a mercurial trequartista who might be injured at current but on his day ilicic is a decent player, i will need to find another right winger as rigoni is meh
and a decent striker in Duvan Zapata who should find his level at la dea

the defence picked itself toloi and masiello flanked by castagne fight out with hateboer for the starting rb spot and gosens at lb with palomino and mancini as bk

i will be raising funds by selling the surplus of lower ranked defenders i have and possibly a lower potential mid i might even sell tuminello and get another striker.
