Can i use the editor in a network game?

Hey guys!
I've been playing with my friend in a while now, and i was wondering if it is possible to use the editor without him finding out, i'm useually the host, but i don't know if he can see it when i use the editor or if it is only noticable if it is too obvious.
I realize this is not the most honorable of question, but i would love some response.
