So I am in 3rd season with ajax. I get offer for player, I reject, player asked why I reject, I say "what can I do to make you stay" , player "I want to play a bigger role, i will stay if you make me a key player with a contract", I offer him key player contract, equal salary to top earner... He accepts

Then same day "player unhappy with promise not kept"
Team angry with how I treat him
player looks to force move away

What did I do wrong|?
