Can you start a save a year or two in?

I know you can download saves but is it possible through the game setup or the editor to start the game a year in?
When I start a new save now it feels slightly unrealistic starting in July 2012 even though we're in April 2013. It's weird but it nags me which is why I ask

I think you can just start normally and go on holiday for a whole season?

i know but if i start with a club i'll probs get sacked and if i start unemployed i'll struggle to get a decent job. just curious anyway.

Once you have holidayed retire and then add new manager. That way you can take charge of a club in the same way as at the start of a normal game.

Start unemployed, holiday to when you want, add new manager at club you want, and then retire original manager.
