Cannot run game:Failed to set up graphics system - what now after Direct X?

Hi

I tried to load up FM11 today and received the "Cannot run game: Failed to set up graphics system" error message. It worked fine yesterday so graphics drivers can't be an issue.

I followed some advice about Direct X but now, rather than the original error message, I get the "fm.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" message.

The Direct X solution clearly worked for others but what should I try now?

P.S. I've also tried the SwiftShader route but, after registering, they say they've emailed me (but nothing's arrived) and say 'Please note that we can only support commercial users.'

Did you check your spam folder? You could also retry with another e-mail address. SwiftShader runs FM11 quite nicely if you have adequate CPU performance.
