Hi guys,

Into my third season with MK Dons. Won league 1 and then finished 8th in the Championship.

My main player is some what of a wonder kid named Dele Alli. His contract expires at the end of the season, im currently only in august so still some way to go. However, im desperate to extend his contract but he is asking for 20k a year. My highest earning player at the moment is on 8k. The board will only allow me to offer him 14k and he just wont accept this. I have approached the board and they have said they will not pay him any more.

Is there anything I can do other than flog him on the cheap in January or lose him for nothing at the end of the season? Any way to get him to sign a new deal?

As a last resort I was going to use the ingame editor, but when I go to 'Downloads' it just says 'please ensure 'enable steam community in game is enabled' I got this game as a hard copy, but have just downloaded steam and this option is ticked, but still doesnt work :(

a little tip for this kind of thing, i'm not sure if many people know about it. some may class it as cheating but its an exploit you can take advantage of.

try getting a good relationship with the players agent. click his agents name and look at the players on his books. scroll down go for the players with the least value, theres usually some players at the bottom of the list who's contracts are either expiring or have already expired. all you have to do is offer contracts to some bad players. offer them all the best possible wage. when the players accepts to sign just keep clicking delay until the deal cancels. eventually you will see the relationship status between you and the agent rise from "Indifferent > Friendly > Respectful > Great Respect". The more players you do this with the quicker it takes. Once you've got "great respect" from the players agent he will usually be much more lenient when it comes to salary, signing on fee, expiry date and clauses.

hope that helps

Two things you can do to lower his wage demands, wich are negotiating tools.
Offer his agent and himself more sign on fee, and reduce his actual wage to the point you can afford.
Dont know if this one still works but: try offering a wage rise after x amount of games

minimum release fee clause, even if its ridiculously high will help too

You can offer the player a huge sell on fee percentage during negotiations. Usually lowers their wage demands and other bonuses significantly although you obviously lose a big chunk of the fee when you eventually sell him.
