hi,

I play with barcelona a 4-5-1 attacking style for home and a 4-5-1 standard style for away games. Team Strategy is the Role Theory (Arsene Wenger Style).

I won the spanish league with only one defeat. My Problem is that after 60 games in a season that I only scored in 6 matches more than 2 goals.

I create a lot of chances but too little on target.

My question is how can I build up more quality chances, I think thats the problem of the scoring?

If someone need more details about the tactic, so ask me please.

thx for help

yeh could you tell me the tactic and try and train your players finishing up then theyl score more chances

ok, for home games:

Team Mentalitiy: Attack (15)
Tempo: Fast (15)
Width: Wide (15)
Defensive Line: High
Time Wasting: rar
Tackling: hard
Focus passing: down both flanks
play ofside: yes

for away games:

mentality: standard 10
the rest also 10

try playing on the counter too.

but if I play a attacking style, should I play then also on the counter???

Try playing wider. If you only have 1 striker then get some wingers attacking the flanks and putting in some quality balls.

No,the idea of counter is to sit back deep and hit teams on the break so its usually a defensive instruction. If you want to press and attack teams dont tick counter.

I'd do what Sean says and increase width a bit more - certainly against teams who you are dominating but failing to score against. 10 width is very, very narrow for a team like Barca. If you really want to beat teams heavily, you have to let your fullbacks get forward too.

I also play with Barca... I use the 4-1-4-1 formation... you should get more crosses in from the flanks from both your wing-backs who should cross from the deep and your AMR and AML shoud be mixed... also you need to use your playmaker which is Xavi or Iniesta... and make your target man Run On to Ball... hope it helps...

also I think you should use Zonal Marking as Barcelona are an attacking side... and set your defensive line a bit deeper and tick man-marking for your centre backs only..

Also try to slower tempo.. (slow), short pass.. that's Guardiola style (:

and change the tempo and passing according to the size of pitch... play a faster tempo and little direct passing on a small pitch and slow tempo and short passing on a long pitch

my fiend uses Barca and plays his 4 5 1 with a DM,two CM and two AM(R/L);scores as many as 6 goals a game!dont know if u use a similar on e.if not,try it or try getting ur team to play a more direct passing style,a little over average creative freedom, using the flanks to cross in the ball often to ur target man up top n playing on the counte-attack.

I use the same system like your friend, a 4-5-1. The wide is already 15, how long should I set as yet??

Can I play an attacking style with a slower tempo football? I ve read that a attacking style should use a fast tempo. Can I build up so better?

The attacking and support player use already a direct passing style, but then I ve the problem that my striker or my winger arent much involved in the game, too little passes. they are isolated if my lone striker passes direct, because he is alone.

The FM09 theory guide says that a target man is useful for weaker teams not for top teams.

Do you really expect to score more than 2 goals with only 1 striker???

what do yu expect? other guys also scored a lot of goals with one striker, but you have to know how?
