Ive had Pichu Atienza since my first season and he played a lot of the games and also hes played a fair few in this seasons campaign. Ive also had him on Duncs training as a stopper cb and also got all my coaches which are 4* and above. The problem is is that his stats just dont seem to want to go up... anyone got any ideas please?

His workrate is 10 which wont help him develop a great deal. But he looks a decent enough player and seems to be getting good ratings for your team so I wouldnt worry too much. Have you tired putting his training to CB cover?

Yeah its just he was at one point dubbed as the next Gerard Pique! and Hes more of a stopper CB due to his lack of pace, although do you reckon his stats would vastly improve if i changed his schedule?

Try the cover with him mate. I noticed his pace was fairly low and thought the Cover training may improve it. Give it a try for a few months :)

he improved nicely for me, at one point was the next Hierro!

if you have a good veteran to tutor him that should help

Im currently R.Sociedad and the only defenders I have i dont think are any good to tutor him:

Mikel Gonzalez
Vadim Demidov
Benedikt Howedes
Cristian Zapata

Ill try putting him onto the cover cb schedule Joe and ill keep posted about his stat change, obviously his stats are going to go down because ive changed his schedule

Lack of determination is his main flaw. Get him trained by someone who's very determined - I used Daws and King on my Spurs save

Again i have no one who has a high level of determination that is old enough to tutor him, would you say it would be worth signing a cb like Walter Samuel to tutor him? ive about 6mil left and im probably gonna get rid of Demidov

Try and play him more. Determination has nothing to do with how he progresses and work rate doesn't either. Hidden attributes determine how they progress. Try tutoring him with one of your defenders anyways and keep playing him. He progresses slower than you want but keep it up and he will. At least for my game he did.

buy Cannavaro or Mellberg (both old and cheap) and get them to tutor him before he gets too old, ps they can both still play to a high standard too.
