I'm managing Cardiff City, obviously on their promotion to the Premier League.
I have roughly ?4 million to spend.
My assistant report, surprisingly, doesn't point out any glaring holes.
However, my first thoughts were to get a solid striker, preferably young, although in his prime wouldn't hurt, and then to stock up on depth players through free transfers and loans.

Any thoughts from you guys?

Thanks in advance.

Damiao, get him in the first season otherwise you will more than likely never get him, he is a goal scoring beast with next to no equal.

I bought Garath mcleary for right mid, seemed to lack a bit of pace at right mid

Cerri? Although nvm, he may not want to join you. Try getting Rescaldani, he should be cheap (and you can usually get a work permit for him). Or maybe Macheda? He was lethal for me 1st season at Southampton as a TM, averaging a goal a game. He only cost me 1 Million $ too.

Seconded. He's a monster, and unless you act fast he'll get snapped up very quickly. They'll usually accept about 3.9m for him but he'd cost you your entire budget + perhaps needing to move a player on to free up some of your wage budget, but he's worth every penny.
