Carling Cup- Important?

I've got a Carling Cup game against Barnsley coming up (second round), and I'm Liverpool. Do you think that I should field my best team, or should I field a young, weakened team.

Would you prefer a Carling Cup win, or a good Premier League place?

A trophy is a trophy and as well as that Europa League qualification. I don't think the board would mind you going for it as it isn't too much effort outside of the season due to other big teams playing weaker squads as well. Also a trophy would do Liverpool quite a bit of good right now, don't you think?

it can add quite a few games onto your season but if you do win it, it can be a nice little morale boast at a hard part of the season. I play with arsenal and tend to field a good side

I am considering a similar thing. Started with Liverpool. Given the inability to challenge for the league in your first season (at least I think anyway) a cup is the next best thing.

Field a strong side with a couple of prospects in.
