Lennon Quits Celtic

Neil Lennon has shocked Scottish Football by quitting Celtic, following a heated rift with Scott Brown, it is unclear who will be appointed next, but the candidates are:

Alan Shearer (Vacant)
Tony Pulis (Stoke)
Tony Proctor (Vacant)
Ally McCoist (Rangers Assistant Manager)

Lennon refused to comment on the matter, but he insisted he would be taking a holiday to Sweden for a few weeks to consider what he wants to do next in football management.

Rookie Proctor Give Chance

Rookie manager Tony Proctor has been given a shot at football management after beating off competition from Alan Shearer, Tony Pulis and Ally McCoist. It has been made clear all candidates were interviewed, and Proctor gave the best answers says the Celtic Chairman.

Celtic fans are claiming Proctor is far to inexperienced for the job, and the decison to put him in charge is a 'joke'.

Coming soon - Pre-Season, and August.

Thanks mate, pre-season and transfer update coming soon!

Just writing it at the moment.

I've just lost my whole pre-season update because of my dodgy internet.

However, I'm not going to quit the story over it, but I'm not prepared to write it out again.

So, I'll just do it in brief, then start a proper update when the season starts.

----------------------------------------------------
Pre-Season

Montrose 1-3 Celtic
Albion Rovers 0-4 Celtic
Ross County 1-3 Celtic
Celtic 2-1 Bordeaux
Bristol City 1-2 Celtic

So a 100% pre-season record - couldn't have asked for a better start

--------------------------------------

In other news, we've signed Michael Ball and Dejan Stefanovic on free transfers and Jan Kromkamp for 525k, with a view in bringing in other players.

Pat McCourt has gone to Middlesbrough on a 6 month loan deal and Andreas Hinkel has left for Athletico Bilbao for 2.1m.

We have draw Sparta Prague in the Champions League, first leg in Prague, second in Celtic.

Sorry for the naff update, but I'm not writing EVERYTHING out again!

Celtic Hold Sparta To 1-1 Draw

Sparta Prague 1-1 Celtic
Lubos Kalouda (16)
Diomansy Kamara (58)

Managers Thoughts: A result I am incredibly pleased with, especially coming from behind to steal a point against a team that sets themselves out aswell as Prague. We now have a goal to take back to Parkhead and I'm hoping we can carry on the good form into the domestic campaign and the second leg of this tie.

Celtic Have Too Much For Prague

Celtic 2-1 Sparta Prague
Dusan Martin (47)
Morton Rasmussen (54)
Diomansy Kamara (75)

Manager Thoughts: Get in! Absolutely over the moon with this result - brillaint performance and we definatley deserved the win. I thought it was over for us after they went 1-0 and had numerous chances to make it 2-0, but we were lucky enough to get over the finishing line.

Our next opponent will be in the next update.

EDIT - We've got Stuttgart

August

Aberdeen 0-3 Celtic
Aiden McGeady (10)
Giorgos Samaras (20)
Giorgos Samaras (72)

Manager Thoughts: A great way to kick off our SPL campaign. Great to seeGiorgos get his first 2 goals of the season, just when we needed the most. I thought Aberdeen were brilliant today, and the scoreline doesn't reflect the game, as we were outplayed throughout most of it.

Celtic 3-0 Stuttgart
Diomansy Kamara ( 6 )
Giorgos Samaras (19)
Robbie Keane (pen,79)

Manager Thoughts: Another brilliant performance from us. Stuttgart didn't perform to there highest standards, but to say we were brilliant is a complete understatement. This really does set us up well to make the Group Stages of the Champions League.

Celtic 1 -1 St. Johnstone
Murray Davidson (15)
Jan Hooiveld (69)

Manager Thoughts: Not a good result really, but I rested most of my squad ahead of our crucial match against Stuttgart in mid-week. I'm not too disheartened, and St. Johnstone did very well.

Stuttgart 1-1 Celtic
Sebastian Rau (1)
Girogos Samaras (45)

Manager Thoughts: On the whole, that was a very poor performance, and Stuttgart, really, should have taken advantage of it, and I thought they were going to with there early goal. We only had two chances throughout the match, and scored one. I'm happy we're progressing to the Group Stages, but a massive improvement is in order.

After the match, the draw for the Champions League was made. Celtic have been handed a tough group, including reigning champions Barcelona, former champions Juventus and a very winnable match against Standard.

The same day, the draw for the Scottish League Cup was made, Celtic were given a home tie against Raith Rovers.

Hibernian 0-2 Celtic
Marc Antoine-Fortune ( 6 )
Diomansy Kamara (16)

Manager Thoughts: A solid performance, not a game for the record books, as not many chances were had by either team, but we did just enough to claim the win. Hibernian lacked pace upfront and that showed on the final score.
