playing as Milan and have a midfield 3 of Rafinha ap(a)-Lucas Romero cm(d)-Montolivo cm(s).

While Rafinha excels and is probably my player of the season the other two seem to play "poorly" or at least receive strange ratings from 6.6 to 6.0 but when i look deeper at their individual performances they are playing well few missed passes (3-5 on average), at least a key pass each a game ,not a lot of fouls and their average position is good and solid.

so really i'm just wondering if anyone has any idea as to why they are getting lower ratings than i'm used to or if i'm just reading the ratings wrong.

thanks.

Unfortunately match ratings are determined, much like plaudits IRL, by "exciting" stats such as goals, assists etc. For example, a center-back could be having a nightmare, score a goal and his rating shoots up.
With CMs, especially the Xavi, Carrick and Makalele like players, who keep it simple by retaining possession and breaking up play they don't do anything "special". This is why they have average match ratings.
I bet if you take them players who are playing "average" out of your team, your results will decline. You do not realise the importance of these players (despite ratings and recognition) until they have gone and that is the same IRL. Look at United without Carrick, Chelsea without Makalele intially...Look further than ratings...

6.0-6.6 is below average. If you're happy with their contribution, then it doesn't really matter though.
