Cheap back-up Left-back/Def. Mid?

I am using Arsenal and I am in the first window. I have bought Nem Wellington, Tim Krul, Douglas Costa and Luiz Gustavo.

Unfortunately I have now used up almost all of my original budget, however I have sold some fringe players (Including Mannone who is massively under-rated in FM!!)

I am also looking to sell Santos (Just like real life, he has **** stats for a defender but good stats for a winger!)

Anyway, I have about 5m to spend. Backup LB is my priority so not bothered if I spend it all on him!


The Def. Mid is just for cover because my only real DM is Gustavo. Arteta can deputise there if required, as can Frimpong (But he is injured till February! :/ )
 
Kleber - Internacional 900k (getting on a bit but good player for a year or two for smaller teams)
Atsuto Uchida - Schalke £3.2m
Taras Stepanenko - Shakthar £3.5m
 
Perhaps Jetro Willems from PSV? Not sure how much he would cost, but his value is pretty low and he's young.

He is a long-term target I want to get, but at the moment scouts say they will want about £10m for him, so abit much :)

For a DL go for Niel Taylor from Swansea. You will pick him up for £3.6m-£5m, and will add to your homegrown contingent for Europe ;)

Tried getting him but they wanted £21.5 million oO)


Had to opt for Roberto Canella instead for £6.5 million. Good buy so far
 
They always accept less than £5m for me. Must not like you :P

Also Dennis Aogo of HSV would have been worth looking at.
 
Should also mention in my 2nd season in charge was able to get Motta on a season long loan. Been bossing midfield so far. Playing Man City right now and he's been great.

Even though we blew a 2-0 lead and are now down 3-2 :'(

Just to make sure you realise, ajt09 isn't the one looking for the LB :P :)

And Yeah, Aogo is quality, but Man City had a bidding-war for him with me. And believe it or not.... Man City out bid me :O

I'll try Neil Taylor, as a Swansea player I'd have thought he'd fit with my style of play too :)
