Cheating AI

I'm into my second season in FM with Bayern and have been doing very well until this point. Suddenly, this CL match came up with Real Madrid in Madrid. I not only lost the match but also both Ribery and Olic got injured for 3 months!! As if that is not enough, Robben ot a straight red card for a single challenge. Actually, Ribery and Olic were ripping apart Madrid defense although the score was only 1-0 and suddenly all these happened in the first half.

Second half was even more crazy as suddenly Madrid were playing so well and my defense started to sleep eventhough i gave 'don't get complacent' team talk. All of a sudden they were 3-0 up and Ronaldo scored from 35 yards. Casillas started to save crazily and both Gomez and Kroos's easy goals were blocked by him. I lost 3-1.

Out of curiosity, i reverted back to my old save and played the same game again, this time the score was 6-0 with the same tactics. Even if my defense sits deep, they score goals without any one tackling or marking them. Similar things happen again and again in different ways.

Just wanted to check with experienced players of this game if they have also faced such a cheating by the AI. If so, it is utterly disgusting. If Madrid always will win the game even against better tactics and players, why the **** should we play the game ? Is it the software developers who developed this game or some roadside thugs ?

I am sorry, but im pretty sure, that Football Manager did not "cheat" you. I dont quiet know what you were expecting for away in madrid but with bayern munich defence it would take a miracle anyway to keep a clean sheat against Derby never mind madrid.

Also by sitting deeper your tactics may well have gotten worse rather than improve. Although it would apppear that you have made yourself more defensive, you have crucially given away the chance of hitting on the counter by playing so deep allowing the opposition to dominate you in your own half.

then u tactics is the problem. whatever formation ur using , they to play a deep defensive line. this way ur CB's dont lose the defensive minds easily even on the attack.

i also had the same problem , were i, arsenal, played the first leg home with Bayern Munich. i restarted the match again, and my team played more better with a deep defense line, ratehr than losing big players and in a outplayed match.

You weren't cheated; I took on Madrid in my second season as Bayern about 20 minutes ago, and won 2-1 away from home.

The game isn't scripted, SI aren't out to get you, take your tin foil hat off and get real, it's not possible to win every game, this is Football Manager; a simulation, it's not an arcade game..

Madrid away is a tough task for any team, let alone with Bayerns shoddy defence, you are probably also not taking things like form into account.
