as Jake said, clearly has no faith in Ashley, they don't have a good backup so maybe AVB thinks that it will increase competition for places turning out better performances from his players and that it is a long season and Ashley is getting on a little bit..

Not really worth it unless the rumours of Malouda leaving are true and Mata will be played in the middle and Perriera pushed forward. Even still i dont think the deal is worth it.
