Hi! I manage Chelsea and I'm at the beginning of the 2019/20-season, having won the league and the FA Cup every year and also three times european champion. I've been able to have a pretty decent (understatement) transfer budget and with that been able to buy some pretty good players.

The tactic I wanted to share with you is the asymmetric 4-3-3, with three central midfielders, a left-winger and two central attackers. The instructions I use is: Retain possession, Shorter passing, Hit early crosses, Close down more and Get stuck in. The mentality is control and the team shape is flexible. With Volland in the squad I can change the side of the winger and I also have some options on the other positions as well. I actually bought both Volland and Varande a couple of weeks before I faced them in the final of the Champions League. What do you think?

Why would you keep your Fullbacks on automatic? When you have some of the best players in the world it doesnt really matter if your tactic has major flaws in it you will get the results.
Where do you get your width? How do you defend that right hand side?

This looks to me more about the transfers rather than the tactic.

The Deep-Lying Playmaker will fill the holes left as the right full-back engages the wide man in possession of the ball.
Both Bartra and Zouma are competent in the air and Courtois is 6'6"... I don't think wide play is going to be as much as an issue as you make it out to be.

Also, He's sharing a tactic that's worked for him. If you've similar players, It may work for you.
Football is 90% about the players on the pitch, 10% about the tactical shape they're playing under.

Pep Guardiola developed one of the most devastating tactical attacking shapes modern Football has ever seen but it was only possible due to the players available to him at the club. It was built under a philosophy of ball retention, disciplined midfield off the ball movement and an emphasis on utilizing overlaps.... I've never once seen a Manger say "Sure, Barcelona play as ***** tactic, with the players they've got, any old tactic would work"

love this formation

used this formation and it worked. thanks... keep up the good work... :p :D :D
